E\u00e9n engel bracht het nieuws, maar een hele menigte engelen reageerde op deze glorieuze aankondiging. Hun thema was tweeledig: glorie aan God en vrede op aarde. Deze menigte van de hemelse legermacht bracht glorie aan God in de hoogste hemel. En op aarde, aan het andere uiteinde van het spectrum, verkondigden ze vrede onder de mensen.<\/p><p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1297\">Laten we het eerste van deze twee thema&#039;s eens bekijken: eer aan God.<\/p><p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1297\">De geboorte van de Heer Jezus bracht glorie aan God, omdat het vooruitwees naar een leven dat een heilige en rechtvaardige God zou verheerlijken. Toen de zonde de wereld binnenkwam door de ongehoorzaamheid van \u00e9\u00e9n mens, verspreidden dood en zonde zich over de hele mensheid, want allen hebben gezondigd en missen de heerlijkheid van God (Romeinen 5:12; 3:23). Zonde van welke aard dan ook is een belediging van de heiligheid en glorie van God; Zijn ogen zijn te rein om het kwaad te aanschouwen en kunnen de goddeloosheid niet aanzien (Habakuk 1:13).<\/p><p data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1962\">Maar in Gods hart \u2013 nog voordat de tijd begon \u2013 was er al een plan om het probleem van de zonde aan te pakken. Toen de tijd rijp was, zond God Zijn Zoon uit (Galaten 4:4) juist met dit doel. Op twaalfjarige leeftijd kon de Heer Jezus zeggen: &quot;Wist u niet dat Ik bezig moest zijn met de zaken van Mijn Vader?&quot; (Lucas 2:49). Bij de bron van Sychar zei Hij tegen Zijn discipelen: &quot;Mijn voedsel is de wil te doen van Hem die Mij gezonden heeft, en Zijn werk te voltooien&quot; (Johannes 4:34). In Johannes 5:30 horen we Hem zeggen: &quot;Ik zoek niet Mijn eigen wil, maar de wil van de Vader die Mij gezonden heeft,&quot; en opnieuw in Johannes 6:38: &quot;Want Ik ben uit de hemel neergedaald, niet om Mijn eigen wil te doen, maar de wil van Hem die Mij gezonden heeft.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"2202\">Vervolgens verklaarde onze Heer in Johannes 17:4, vlak voor het kruis: &quot;Ik heb U op aarde verheerlijkt. Ik heb het werk volbracht dat U Mij hebt opgedragen.&quot; En terwijl Hij aan het kruis hing, riep Hij triomfantelijk uit: &quot;Het is volbracht!&quot; (Johannes 19:30).<\/p><p data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2441\">Door in deze wereld te komen, een volmaakt leven te leiden en een volmaakte dood te sterven, bracht Hij eer aan God in de hoogste hemel. &quot;God wordt in Hem verheerlijkt&quot; (Johannes 13:31)! Geen wonder dat de hemel gevuld was met lofzang bij de geboorte van onze Heer Jezus Christus!<\/p><p data-start=\"2443\" data-end=\"2613\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Temidden van de drukte van het leven zouden we even stil moeten staan en God moeten prijzen omdat Hij Zijn Zoon naar de wereld heeft gezonden om ons te verlossen en tot Hem te brengen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glory To God
