Maar terwijl hij hierover nadacht, verscheen er een engel van de Heer aan hem in een droom, die zei: \u201cJozef, zoon van David, wees niet bang om Maria, je vrouw, tot je te nemen, want wat in haar is verwekt, is van de Heilige Geest.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"410\" data-end=\"413\" \/><strong><em>Matte\u00fcs 1:19-20<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"1125\">Toen ik afgelopen week het verhaal van de geboorte van onze Heer las, werd ik getroffen door het verhaal van Jozef. We weten niet hoe oud Jozef was toen de Heer Jezus werd geboren. Maar we weten wel dat Maria met hem verloofd was en dat ze nooit als man en vrouw samen waren geweest. Terwijl ik Matthe\u00fcs 1:18-25 las, probeerde ik me in Jozefs plaats te verplaatsen: wat voelde hij toen hij hoorde dat de vrouw met wie hij verloofd was zwanger was? We weten niet expliciet hoe hij zich voelde, maar de woorden &quot;hij was van plan haar in het geheim te verstoten&quot; geven misschien een hint. Schaamde hij zich voor het nieuws? Was hij gekwetst \u2013 misschien gebroken, zelfs verwoest? Jij en ik zouden al deze gevoelens kunnen hebben ervaren!<\/p><p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1601\">Maar Jozef ontving van de Heer de opdracht om Maria tot vrouw te nemen, want &quot;wat in haar verwekt is, is van de Heilige Geest.&quot; Jozef begreep vast niet hoe dit mogelijk was, maar hij accepteerde het en nam de Heer op Zijn woord. We lezen: &quot;Toen werd Jozef uit zijn slaap gewekt en deed hij wat de engel van de Heer hem had opgedragen. Hij nam zijn vrouw tot vrouw en had geen gemeenschap met haar totdat zij haar eerstgeboren zoon had gebaard. Hij noemde hem Jezus.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1845\">We begrijpen misschien niet wat de Heer in ons leven doet, maar net als Jozef kunnen we &quot;op de Heer vertrouwen met heel je hart en niet op je eigen inzicht steunen; erken Hem in al je wegen, en Hij zal je paden rechtmaken&quot; (Spreuken 3:5-6).<\/p><p data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"2488\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Deze tijd van het jaar kan voor sommigen erg moeilijk zijn, zelfs als de meesten om ons heen blij zijn en de feestdagen vieren. Misschien voel je je gekwetst, gebroken, zelfs radeloos \u2013 net zoals Jozef zich wellicht voelde. Er is hoop voor degenen die pijn hebben. Psalm 34:18 herinnert ons eraan: &quot;De HEER is nabij de gebrokenen van hart en redt hen die berouwvol zijn.&quot; Psalm 147:3 voegt daaraan toe: &quot;Hij geneest de gebrokenen van hart en verbindt hun wonden.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"2488\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>De omstandigheden van Jozef veranderden niet \u2013 hij was nog steeds verloofd met een vrouw die een kind verwachtte \u2013 maar hij was bereid om op het woord van de Heer te vertrouwen voor alles wat hem te wachten stond.
