De Kerk is de bruid van Christus. O, wat een verlangen en verwachting zou de bruid moeten hebben voor haar Bruidegom! Wij zouden vol verwachting moeten wachten tot onze Heer komt om ons mee naar huis te nemen! Volgens 1 Thessalonicenzen 4 zal Hij door de wolken breken met een luide roep, met de stem van een aartsengel en met de bazuin van God. Hierin ligt hoop voor de gelovige en bemoediging voor de pelgrim \u2013 wij zullen voor eeuwig zijn <em>met<\/em> de Heer.<\/p><p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"763\">Maar Hij zal ook komen om de wereld te oordelen. Jezus sprak meermaals over het laatste oordeel, wanneer Hij zal komen om de levenden en de doden te oordelen en Zijn trouwe kinderen te scheiden van hen die weigeren Hem te volgen.<\/p><p data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"985\">Hij zal ook terugkeren om een nieuwe hemel en een nieuwe aarde te stichten waarin gerechtigheid woont. Hoe vurig kijken wij uit naar Zijn nieuwe universum met zijn schitterende hoofdstad, die in Openbaring 21 en 22 wordt beschreven als het Nieuwe Jeruzalem.<\/p><div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Heer, onze harten branden van verlangen naar de glorieuze dag.,<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Bij Uw terugkomst zullen allen Uw heerschappij erkennen.<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Voor U, machtige Koning der koningen, zullen alle ketenen breken.;<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Engelen zullen U aanbidden, terwijl de schepping zingt.<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Tedere, liefdevolle Verlosser, Lam dat eens geslacht werd,<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Door Uw gunst zullen de heiligen nooit meer huilen.<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Zachtjes zult U hen leiden naar waar de rivier stroomt.,<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Aan de oevers ervan zullen ze zich voeden in goddelijke rust.<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Prins van leven en glorie, schijn voor onze ogen.,<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>En laat het verhaal van Golgotha weerklinken door de hemel en de aarde;<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Lam Gods, ontvang ons naar die vredige kust;<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Kom terug, Heer Jezus, regeer tot in eeuwigheid.<\/em><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\"><em>~ CA
