Drie keer in Leviticus 7:11-15. Het dankoffer was geen afzonderlijk offer, maar was verbonden met het vredesoffer (vers 12). Het vredesoffer symboliseert hoe Christus de toorn van God over de zonde heeft gestild en vrede heeft gebracht tussen God en elke zondaar die op Jezus Christus vertrouwt, waardoor wij gemeenschap met God kunnen hebben. Het symboliseert ook de innerlijke vrede die we door deze gemeenschap ervaren.<em data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"725\">\u201cde vrede van God, die alle begrip te boven gaat\u201d<\/em> (Fil. 4:7). Let in Filippenzen 4:5-7 op wat nauw verbonden is met het genieten van Gods vrede: dankzegging (v. 6). Wanneer mijn hart in harmonie is met de Vader en ik gemeenschap met Hem heb, zal mijn hart Hem dankbaar zijn.<\/p><p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1622\">Ik moet denken aan Mefiboseth, de zoon van Jonathan. David wilde hem goed behandelen, en Mefiboseth zat aan de tafel van de koning. In 2 Samu\u00ebl 9 zien we dat deze gemeenschap voortdurend (vv. 7, 13), constant (v. 10) en <em data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1206\">\u201cals een van de zonen van de koning\u201d<\/em> (vers 11). Hij hoefde zich nooit af te vragen of hij daar wel thuishoorde \u2013 hij was door genade in die gemeenschap opgenomen, en vrede vulde zijn hart. Ik weet zeker dat elke keer dat Mefiboseth aan de tafel van de koning zat, met zijn kreupele voeten eronder verborgen, zijn hart vervuld was van dankbaarheid. We kunnen het bijna horen in zijn woorden tot de koning: <em data-start=\"1535\" data-end=\"1608\">\u201c&#039;Wat is uw dienaar, dat u naar zo&#039;n dode hond als ik zou kijken?&#039;\u201d<\/em> (2 Sam. 9:8).<\/p><p data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"2079\">Ik denk dat ons genot van vrede samenhangt met onze dankbare houding. Kolossenzen 3:15 zegt ons dat we <em data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1801\">\u201cLaat de vrede van God in jullie harten regeren\u2026 en wees dankbaar.\u201d<\/em> We kunnen deze vrede niet ervaren zonder een dankbaar hart. Wanneer we klagen en mopperen \u2013 bezig zijn met wat we niet hebben of wat we denken te moeten hebben \u2013 wordt onze innerlijke vrede aangetast en zien we de zegeningen die we w\u00e9l hebben over het hoofd.
