Thank You Lord<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. <\/em>
Psalm 92:1<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

Scripture instructs us to give thanks to the Lord for many things. We are to thank Him for who He is. Psalm 30:4 says, \u201cSing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.\u201d<\/em> We should give thanks because He is ever near us: \u201cWe give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.\u201d <\/em>Psalm 75:1<\/p>

Paul gave thanks to God for his salvation and for the privilege of serving Him: \u201cAnd I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.\u201d<\/em> 1 Timothy 1:12\u201313<\/p>

Paul also gave thanks for the spiritual growth he saw in others: \u201cWe are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other.\u201d<\/em> 2 Thessalonians 1:3<\/p>

One thing that we as Christians should never lose sight of\u2014and should always give thanks for\u2014is the Person and the work of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 9:15, Paul exclaims, \u201cThanks be to God for His indescribable gift!\u201d<\/em><\/p>

But another reason it’s good to thank the Lord is because of what thanksgiving does in us<\/em>: thanksgiving makes us grateful, and gratitude is a good and necessary thing. Every day is a day to give thanks to God.\u00a0It is good to live as grateful people. The physical, verbal act of saying, \u201cThank You, Lord,\u201d<\/em> keeps us on a grateful path. We become people who give thanks \u201cin everything.\u201d 1 Thessalonians 5:18<\/p>
