En toen ze dat gedaan hadden, vingen ze een enorme hoeveelheid vis, en hun net scheurde. Dus gaven ze hun partners in de andere boot een seintje om te komen helpen. En die kwamen en vulden beide boten met vis, zodat ze begonnen te zinken.
Lucas 5:6-7<\/strong>
<\/em><\/p>

Als we kijken naar de ontmoeting van Petrus met Christus in Lucas 5:1-11, hebben we ons al afgevraagd:, \u201cHoe reageren we op mislukking?\u201d<\/em> (vv. 1\u20132), en \u201cHoe reageren we op autoriteit?\u201d<\/em> (vv. 3-5). Een derde vraag die we uit deze passage kunnen afleiden is:, \u201cHoe reageren we op succes?\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Toen Petrus het woord van de Heer gehoorzaamde, ontdekte hij dat de Heer in staat is om "onmetelijk veel meer te doen dan wij vragen of bedenken" (Efezi\u00ebrs 3:20). De visvangst was zo groot dat de netten begonnen te scheuren, en zelfs nadat er om hulp was geroepen, begonnen beide boten te zinken onder het gewicht van de zegen.<\/p>

Succes is voor velen van ons een lastig begrip. Het kan leiden tot trots, waardoor we gaan denken dat... Wij<\/em> Iets op eigen kracht bereikt hebben. Dat kan ervoor zorgen dat we de Ene uit het oog verliezen, de ware bron van alle zegeningen. Het kan ons zelfs isoleren en ons van anderen afwenden. Maar Petrus' reactie is zeer leerzaam.<\/p>

Allereerst vroeg hij anderen om hulp, waardoor ook zij in de zegen konden delen. De Schrift leert dit principe door het hele Oude en Nieuwe Testament heen (Genesis 12:2; Handelingen 20:35; Lucas 6:38).<\/p>

Vervolgens werd Petrus nederig door de goedheid van de Heer jegens hem. Het is de goedheid van God die ons tot bekering leidt (Romeinen 2:4). Petrus zag zichzelf duidelijk in het licht van Gods genade en hij reageerde daarop., \u201cToen Simon Petrus dat zag, viel hij voor Jezus neer en zei: 'Ga weg van mij, want ik ben een zondig mens, Heer!'\u2019 <\/em>Wanneer we ook maar een glimp opvangen van de goedheid, grootsheid en glorie van de Heer, is er geen plaats meer voor trots, arrogantie of zelfzucht. Dit wordt duidelijk ge\u00efllustreerd in Jesaja 6.<\/p>

Ten slotte lezen we in vers 9: \u201cWant hij en allen die met hem waren, waren verbaasd over de grote hoeveelheid vis die ze gevangen hadden.\u201d <\/em>Gehoorzaamheid aan de Heer leidt tot levens die getuigen van de grootheid van onze God \u2013 en dat getuigenis straalt af op anderen!<\/p>

Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong>
Dit alles gebeurde omdat Petrus' antwoord op het gezag van de Heer was: "Op Uw woord."
