\u201cMaar toen het God behaagde, die mij van moederskant afgezonderd had en mij door zijn genade geroepen had, om zijn Zoon in mij te openbaren, opdat ik Hem onder de heidenen zou verkondigen\u2026\u201d<\/em>
Galaten 1:15-16<\/strong><\/p>

Zoals we in het hele Woord van God hebben gezien, maken de momenten in de Schrift waarop "Maar God" staat een wereld van verschil in het leven van mensen. Noach, Abraham, Jozef, David, de psalmist, Jona, Nehemia, Dani\u00ebl en vele anderen zagen hun leven veranderd door een "Maar God". Paulus was geen uitzondering. Toen hij nog bekend stond als Saulus van Tarsus \u2013 dreigementen uitsprekend en ze ook uitvoerend \u2013 veranderde zijn leven voorgoed op de weg naar Damascus (Handelingen 9).<\/p>

Toen Paulus nadacht over zijn roeping als apostel, besefte hij dat God al die tijd een plan voor zijn leven had gehad. Paulus beleed:, \u201cHoewel ik vroeger een godslasteraar, een vervolger en een onbeschaamde man was, heb ik toch genade ontvangen, omdat ik het in onwetendheid en ongeloof deed. En de genade van onze Heer was zeer overvloedig, samen met het geloof en de liefde die in Christus Jezus zijn.\u201d<\/em> (1 Tim. 1:13-14).<\/p>

In het vers van vandaag erkent Paulus dat zijn "Maar God"-moment al lang v\u00f3\u00f3r zijn geboorte begon \u2013 en dat het doel ervan was om de Zoon van God in hem en door hem te openbaren. We zouden kunnen zeggen dat dit het uiteindelijke doel is van elk "Maar God".\u201c<\/p>

Peter verwoordde dezelfde waarheid op een andere manier: \u201cEens waren jullie geen volk, maar nu zijn jullie Gods volk; eens hadden jullie geen genade ontvangen, maar nu hebben jullie genade ontvangen.\u201d<\/em> (1 Petrus 2:10). En dit is zo \u201copdat u de voortreffelijkheden zult verkondigen van Hem die u uit de duisternis heeft geroepen tot Zijn wonderbaarlijk licht\u201d<\/em> (1 Petrus 2:9).<\/p>

De passages in de Schrift waarin we zeggen: "Maar God...", herinneren ons eraan dat onze God hiertoe in staat is. \u201conmetelijk veel meer dan alles wat wij vragen of denken, overeenkomstig de kracht die in ons werkt\u201d<\/em> (Efezi\u00ebrs 3:20) \u2014 ongeacht onze situatie of omstandigheden.<\/p>

Als volgelingen van Jezus Christus mogen we nooit opgeven of ons laten ontmoedigen. We mogen nooit terugdeinzen voor de uitdagingen van het leven. In plaats daarvan zouden we moeten zoeken naar de momenten in ons leven waarop we denken: "Maar God...".<\/p>

Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong>
Denk terug aan de momenten uit het verleden waarop je dacht: "Maar God!", dank Hem voor de momenten in het heden en vertrouw erop dat Hij in de toekomst nog meer zal openbaren, zodat Zijn Zoon in jou geopenbaard kan worden en jij kunt verkondigen wat God door Zijn genade in jouw leven heeft bewerkstelligd!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
