Maar zij verhardden hun hals en in hun opstandigheid stelden zij een leider aan om hen weer in slavernij te brengen. Maar U bent God, bereid tot vergeving, genadig en barmhartig, geduldig en vol goedheid, en U hebt hen niet verlaten.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"461\" \/><strong data-start=\"461\" data-end=\"478\">Nehemia 9:17<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"1097\">De geschiedenis van de natie Isra\u00ebl in relatie tot hun God is als een achtbaan. Het ene moment smeken ze de Heer om hen te verlossen, en zodra Hij hun gebeden verhoort, beginnen ze Hem ongehoorzaam te zijn. We zien dit patroon duidelijk terug in de geschiedenis. <em data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"782\">Exodus<\/em>, <em data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"793\">Getallen<\/em>, En <em data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"807\">Rechters<\/em> In het bijzonder. Vanwege hun voortdurende ongehoorzaamheid liet de Heer hen zeventig jaar lang in gevangenschap wegvoeren. Tegen het einde van die zeventig jaar bracht de Heer een overgebleven groep terug naar het land om het te herbouwen. We zien deze herbouw in de boeken van <em data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1083\">Nehemia<\/em> En <em data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1095\">Ezra.<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1661\">In <em data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1114\">Nehemia 9<\/em>, We lezen een prachtig gebed van Nehemia \u2013 een van de twaalf gebeden die in het boek zijn opgetekend. Dit herinnert ons eraan dat de weg naar herstel door bekering loopt. In dit hoofdstuk vertelt Nehemia de geschiedenis van Isra\u00ebl, en in het vers van vandaag heeft hij specifiek datgene in gedachten wat we vinden in <em data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1400\">Nummer 14.<\/em> Terwijl we Isra\u00ebls gebrek aan vertrouwen en gehoorzaamheid zien, leren we ook iets over onze God! Hij is bereid te vergeven. Hij is genadig en barmhartig. Hij is traag tot toorn en overvloedig in goedheid jegens Zijn volk. Zijn wezen staat niet toe dat Hij de zijnen verlaat!<\/p><p data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"2089\">Zelfs toen ze God niet volgden, bleef Hij trouw, want Hij kan Zichzelf niet verloochenen. Dit schreef Paulus aan Timote\u00fcs in <em data-start=\"1800\" data-end=\"1817\">2 Timote\u00fcs 2:13.<\/em> Het vers van vandaag herinnert ons aan de ware aard en het karakter van onze God. Het verzekert ons er ook van dat falen nooit definitief is. We mogen nooit vergeten wie onze God is \u2013 Hij is dezelfde gisteren, vandaag en voor altijd. Hij is de Heer, en Hij verandert niet.<em data-start=\"2058\" data-end=\"2085\">Maleachi 3:6; Hebree\u00ebn 13:8<\/em>).<\/p><p data-start=\"2091\" data-end=\"2383\">Misschien zit je in een fase van falen. Misschien ben je van de Heer afgedwaald. Denk aan de woorden van vandaag: &quot;Maar God.&quot; Die spreken over Zijn trouw.
