Maar God heeft de dwaze dingen van de wereld uitverkoren om de wijzen te beschamen, en de zwakke dingen van de wereld om de machtigen te beschamen; en de onwaardige dingen van de wereld, de dingen die veracht worden, heeft God uitverkoren, en de dingen die er niet zijn, om de dingen die er wel zijn tot niets te maken, zodat geen mens zich in Zijn aanwezigheid zou beroemen.\u201d<br \/><\/em><strong>1 Korinti\u00ebrs 1:26-28<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"1181\">Dit is ongeveer de zevende keer dat Paulus het woord noemt. <em data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"758\">\u201c&quot;telefoongesprek&quot;\u201d<\/em> of <em data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"774\">\u201c&quot;roeping.&quot;\u201d<\/em> Het hoofdstuk begint met Paulus die zichzelf beschrijft als <em data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"853\">\u201cgeroepen om apostel te zijn\u201d<\/em> (1:1). Hij schrijft aan de gelovigen in Korinthe die <em data-start=\"907\" data-end=\"921\">\u201cuitgeroepen\u201d<\/em> des (1:2). Het woord <em data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"951\">kerk<\/em>\u2014<em data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"962\">ekklesia<\/em>-middelen <em data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"994\">\u201cuitgeroepen.\u201d<\/em> Zij waren degenen die <em data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1038\">\u201cheiligen genoemd,\u201d<\/em> betekenis <em data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1058\">apart <\/em>(1:2). Zij waren ook verbonden en van elkaar afhankelijk met allen die, overal, de naam van onze Heer Jezus Christus aanroepen.<\/p><p data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1523\">De roeping van de gelovige is buitengewoon belangrijk, hoewel we het belang ervan vaak uit het oog verliezen. In dit eerste hoofdstuk herinnert Paulus ons eraan dat elke christen geroepen is tot heiligheid (vv. 1-9). We zijn <em data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1452\">\u201cgeroepen tot de gemeenschap met Zijn Zoon, Jezus Christus onze Heer\u201d<\/em> (vv. 9-25). En we zijn geroepen om God en Christus te verheerlijken (vv. 26-31).<\/p><p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1957\">In de passage van vandaag spoort Paulus ons aan om onze roeping zorgvuldig te overwegen. We moeten beseffen dat God ons niet geroepen heeft vanwege wie we zijn, maar ondanks wie we zijn! Als God ons geroepen had op basis van wie we zijn of wat we Hem te bieden hebben, zouden trots en arrogantie snel de overhand hebben gekregen. Maar God deed iets anders \u2013 iets wat alleen Hij kon doen \u2013 zodat Hij alleen de eer ontvangt voor zo&#039;n genadig en liefdevol plan van verlossing.<\/p><p data-start=\"1959\" data-end=\"2203\">Hij heeft de dwaze dingen van deze wereld uitgekozen om de wijzen te beschamen.<br data-start=\"2024\" data-end=\"2027\" \/>Hij heeft de zwakken uitgekozen om de machtigen te vernederen.<br data-start=\"2077\" data-end=\"2080\" \/>Hij heeft de geringste en verachtelijke dingen uitgekozen \u2013 ja, zelfs de dingen die niets voorstellen \u2013 om de dingen die er wel zijn tot niets te reduceren.<\/p><p data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2262\">Waarom? Zodat <em data-start=\"2218\" data-end=\"2260\">\u201cGeen mens mag roemen in Zijn aanwezigheid.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"2264\" data-end=\"2493\">Paulus concludeert: <em data-start=\"2280\" data-end=\"2473\">\u201cMaar door Hem bent u in Christus Jezus, die voor ons wijsheid van God is geworden, en gerechtigheid, heiliging en verlossing, opdat, zoals er geschreven staat: \u2018Wie roemt, roeme in de Heer.\u2019\u201d<\/em> (1 Korinti\u00ebrs 1:30-31).<\/p><p data-start=\"2495\" data-end=\"2664\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>In Gods aanwezigheid is geen plaats voor menselijke glorie. Het gaat niet om jou of mij, maar om alle eer en lof te geven aan Hem die ons uit de duisternis heeft geroepen en in Zijn wonderbaarlijke licht heeft gebracht.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who Gets The Glory? \u201cFor you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
