Terwijl ze over hun situatie vertelden, voelde ik hun pijn. Toen zei de vrouw en moeder iets dat me sindsdien is bijgebleven. Nadat ze de hartverscheurende pijn had beschreven die hun moeilijkheden hadden veroorzaakt, zei ze simpelweg: <em data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"564\">\u201cMaar mijn God!\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"688\">Met die twee woorden drukte deze lieve zuster een diepe waarheid uit: God is de Grote Veranderaar in elke situatie.<\/p><p data-start=\"690\" data-end=\"998\">Het woord <em data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"706\">\u201c&quot;Maar&quot;\u201d<\/em> is een voegwoord, en wat erna komt, staat altijd in contrast met wat eraan voorafging. Het is een klein woord, maar wanneer het wordt verbonden met de naam van God, opent het immense mogelijkheden. De uitdrukking <em data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"910\">\u201cMaar God\u201d<\/em> Het komt ongeveer 45 keer voor in de Bijbel, en wat er bijna altijd op volgt is een radicale verandering.<\/p><p data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"1420\">Neem de tijd om Psalm 73 helemaal te lezen. Aanvankelijk richtte Asaf zich op het tijdelijke, niet op het eeuwige. Omdat hij volledig in beslag werd genomen door het hier en nu, raakte hij verontrust (vv. 1-3), werd zijn perspectief verstoord (vv. 4-12) en raakte hij in een neerwaartse spiraal van pijn en verwarring (vv. 13-16). Maar alles veranderde toen hij het huis van de Heer binnenging. Zijn perspectief verschoof naar Gods perspectief \u2013 een eeuwig perspectief (vv. 17-20).<\/p><p data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1919\">Een eeuwig perspectief hebben betekent niet dat je het heden negeert. Het betekent dat we, ondanks wat er nu gebeurt, ervoor kiezen om ons te richten op Gods goedheid, genade en leiding. Asaf begon de psalm met de woorden:, <em data-start=\"1640\" data-end=\"1662\">\u201cGod is werkelijk goed\u2026\u201d<\/em> Later voegt hij eraan toe: <em data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1782\">\u201cU houdt mij vast bij mijn rechterhand. U zult mij leiden met Uw raad en mij daarna tot heerlijkheid opnemen.\u201d<\/em> (vv. 23-24). Hoewel hij in een dal begon, eindigde hij op de bergtop \u2013 omdat zijn focus was veranderd, en dat veranderde zijn perspectief.<\/p><p data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"2085\">In vers 25 vraagt hij:, <em data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1976\">\u201c&quot;Wie heb ik in de hemel behalve U?&quot;\u201d<\/em> Zijn conclusie is er een die elke gelovige zou moeten delen: <em data-start=\"2028\" data-end=\"2083\">\u201cEr is niemand op aarde die ik behalve U begeer.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"2087\" data-end=\"2405\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Ja, ons lichaam en ons hart kunnen van tijd tot tijd falen. Maar God is de kracht van ons hart en ons deel voor eeuwig. Zijn aanwezigheid en kracht maken het verschil. Hij is de Goddelijke Veranderaar! Richt je vandaag op Hem.
