Hij verlangt ernaar om zelfs de zwaksten van Zijn kinderen vertrouwen en Zijn heilige kalmte te schenken. Wij zijn met Hem, en Hij is met ons \u2013 in de stormen van het leven en in tijden van rust. Wij zijn net zo veilig als Hij.<\/p><p data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"899\">De Ene die de winden en de golven beheerst, de hemelse legers en de zaken der mensen, is Jezus. Hij stierf om ons tot de zijnen te maken, Hij leeft om de zijnen te beschermen, en Hij zal spoedig terugkomen om de zijnen tot zich te nemen. Zijn dood aan het kruis verzekert onze redding als zondaren, en Zijn leven in de hemel verzekert onze bevrijding als heiligen, want <em data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"874\">\u201cHij leeft altijd om voorspraak te doen.\u201d<\/em> voor ons (Hebree\u00ebn 7:25).<\/p><p data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"1569\">De kracht van onze zekerheid ligt in het feit dat Gods karakter en onze eeuwige veiligheid onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden zijn en samen staan of vallen. <em data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1074\">\u201cIk vertrouw op de rechtvaardigheid van God.\u201d<\/em> zei een stervende christen. Het rechtvaardige karakter van God is onlosmakelijk verbonden met de redding van zelfs de zwakste gelovige. Het eeuwige verlies van een ziel die op Christus vertrouwde, is verschrikkelijk om te bedenken, maar nog verschrikkelijker zou het zijn als Gods karakter voor de hele wereld bezoedeld zou worden. Het is onmogelijk te denken dat God iemand die zich tot Hem heeft bekeerd, niet van de zonde zou kunnen behoeden! Gelovigen \u2013 jong of oud, zwak of sterk \u2013 zijn <em data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1527\">\u201cbewaard voor redding door de kracht van God\u201d<\/em> (1 Petrus 1:5) en door Hem als rechtvaardig verklaard.<\/p><p data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"1569\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Wij worden in veiligheid gehouden door de Heer Jezus. Degenen die Hij met Zijn eigen bloed heeft gekocht, zal Hij bewaren, zodat Hij hen in heerlijkheid aan Zichzelf kan voorstellen.
