De perfecte dienaar<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cWant zelfs de Mensenzoon is niet gekomen om gediend te worden, maar om te dienen en zijn leven te geven als losgeld voor velen.\u201d<\/em>
Marcus 10:45<\/strong><\/p>

Het Evangelie van Marcus presenteert de Heer Jezus als de volmaakte Dienaar. Hij kwam niet om gediend te worden, maar om te dienen, en Zijn dienstbaarheid zou Hem helemaal tot aan het kruis brengen. Dit was geen toeval. Het was Gods wil dat Hij Zijn leven zou geven als losgeld voor velen. Satan had Hem graag een kortere weg naar de heerlijkheid zien nemen, maar het pad was vastgelegd: het moest door lijden, afwijzing en dood leiden.<\/p>

Bedenk eens wat dit betekende. De Heer der heerlijkheid vernederde Zichzelf en werd gevonden in de gedaante van een dienaar. Hij verdroeg onbegrip, spot, hoon en schande. Uiteindelijk daalde Hij af in de duisternis van het kruis, waar Hij riep: "Mijn God, mijn God, waarom hebt U mij verlaten?" Zelfs daar bleef Hij de gehoorzame Dienaar, die de wil van de Vader volbracht.<\/p>

Het evangelie van Marcus laat ons zien dat de prijs van ware dienstbaarheid opoffering is. Dienen betekent jezelf opzijzetten, de verborgen weg bewandelen en volhouden, ook als er geen erkenning is. De Dienaar van Jehovah zocht niet zijn eigen comfort of zijn eigen weg. Hij gaf alles \u2013 zelfs zijn leven \u2013 voor ons. Er was geen kortere weg naar de heerlijkheid die Hij nu geniet.<\/p>

Dit bevat een boodschap voor ons vandaag. Als de Zoon van God Zichzelf vernederde om te dienen, hoe kunnen wij dan de nederige weg weigeren? Als Hij leed verdroeg omwille van de gerechtigheid, hoe kunnen wij dan terugdeinzen voor beproevingen? Als Hij geen gemakkelijke weg koos, hoe kunnen wij dan een makkelijkere weg verwachten? Hem volgen betekent leren dat de weg naar heerlijkheid loopt via dienstbaarheid, opoffering en gehoorzaamheid aan God.<\/p>
