Maar ik nam afscheid van hen en vertrok naar Macedoni\u00eb.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"115\" data-end=\"566\"><strong>2 Korinti\u00ebrs 2:12-13<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"115\" data-end=\"566\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"115\" data-end=\"566\">Waarom had Paulus geen rust toen hij Titus niet kon vinden? Wat was er zo bijzonder aan Titus?<\/p><p data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"1446\">Paulus had Titus naar Korinthe gestuurd om te horen hoe de gemeente op zijn eerste brief had gereageerd, en hij wachtte op zijn verslag. Zijn diepe bezorgdheid over de Korinthische gelovigen riep verontrustende vragen bij hem op, wat de oorzaak van zijn onrust zou kunnen zijn geweest. In 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 7:5 beschrijft Paulus zijn gemoedstoestand als volgt: <em data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"963\">\u201c\u2026aan alle kanten in de problemen. Buiten waren er conflicten; binnen waren er angsten.\u201d<\/em> In 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 2:13 zei hij:, <em data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1012\">\u201cIk vond geen rust in mijn geest.\u201d<\/em> En in 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 7:5 voegde hij eraan toe:, <em data-start=\"1034\" data-end=\"1062\">\u201c\u2026onze lichamen kregen geen rust.\u201d<\/em> Paulus was geestelijk uitgeput. In 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 11:28 vermeldt hij zelfs dat de dagelijkse zorg voor alle gemeenten zwaar op hem drukte. De apostel Paulus lijkt depressief te zijn geweest, maar hij gaf niet op. Hij was <em data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1338\">\u201cin alle opzichten beproefd, maar niet verpletterd; in verwarring, maar niet wanhopig\u201d<\/em> (4:8). Hij was ontmoedigd, maar niet verslagen, en bleef hopen op een goed verslag toen hij Titus ontmoette.<\/p><p data-start=\"1448\" data-end=\"2253\">Maar misschien zat er meer achter. Misschien was het ook persoonlijk. Dit is namelijk de eerste keer dat Titus bij naam wordt genoemd in het Nieuwe Testament. Paulus noemt hem. <em data-start=\"1608\" data-end=\"1625\">\u201cmijn ware kind\u201d<\/em> In Titus 1:4 en in 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 2:13 noemt hij hem. <em data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1694\">\u201cMijn broer.\u201d<\/em>Zijn naam betekent <em data-start=\"1710\" data-end=\"1719\">\u201c&quot;verpleegkundige&quot;\u201d<\/em> of <em data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1733\">\u201cachterhoede\u201d<\/em>\u2014iemand die anderen helpt verzorgen. In 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 7:5-6 zien we hoe opgelucht Paulus was toen Titus arriveerde: <em data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"2251\">\u201cWant toen we in Macedoni\u00eb aankwamen, hadden onze lichamen geen rust, maar werden we van alle kanten beproefd. Buiten waren er conflicten, binnen waren er angsten. Maar God, die de moedelozen troost, heeft ons getroost door de komst van Titus, en niet alleen door zijn komst, maar ook door de troost die hij in u vond, toen hij ons vertelde over uw vurige verlangen, uw rouw, uw ijver voor mij, zodat ik mij nog meer verheugde.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2462\">De komst van Titus bracht Paulus vreugde, niet alleen vanwege het bericht dat hij bracht, maar ook vanwege wie Titus was. Hij deed zijn naam eer aan en stond toe dat de God van alle troost hem gebruikte als een instrument van troost.<\/p><p data-start=\"2710\" data-end=\"3037\">Het Griekse woord voor troost is <em data-start=\"2740\" data-end=\"2752\">parakaleo,<\/em> Het woord betekent &quot;iemand naar zich toe roepen, iemand oproepen, iemand tot zich roepen&quot;. Het kan aansporing, aanmoediging of troost betekenen. Paulus gebruikt dit woord 29 keer in 2 Korinti\u00ebrs \u2013 11 keer als zelfstandig naamwoord en 18 keer als werkwoord. Het beeld is dat van iemand die naast een ander loopt en troost en aanmoediging biedt.<\/p><p data-start=\"2710\" data-end=\"3037\">Laten we even stilstaan bij wat het betekent om een Titus te zijn \u2013 iemand die anderen troost. Een eenvoudige definitie van troost is &quot;samen door moeilijke tijden heen gaan&quot;. In 1 Thessalonicenzen 5:11 worden we aangespoord om... <em data-start=\"2661\" data-end=\"2706\">\u201cTroost elkaar en bouw elkaar op.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"4262\" data-end=\"4375\"><strong>Anker voor vandaag<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"4262\" data-end=\"4375\">De Heer zoekt vandaag de dag gelovigen zoals Titus \u2013 mensen die Hij kan gebruiken om de moedelozen te troosten. Wil jij er een zijn?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are
