Een levende hoop<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cEn Hij zei tegen mij: \u201cMijn genade is u genoeg, want Mijn kracht wordt in zwakheid volkomen.\u201d Daarom zal ik mij met de grootste vreugde beroemen op mijn zwakheden, opdat de kracht van Christus op mij ruste.\u201d<\/em>
2 Korinti\u00ebrs 12:9<\/strong><\/p>

Er zijn momenten in ons leven waarop we vurig bidden voor iets, en onze gebeden worden verhoord zoals we hadden gehoopt. Maar dat is niet altijd het geval. Soms blijft de kwaal bestaan, blijft de moeilijkheid aanhouden, of wordt het probleem niet opgelost. Waarom? Omdat God niet altijd verheerlijkt wordt door de moeilijkheid weg te nemen \u2013 soms wordt Hij het meest verheerlijkt door ons erdoorheen te helpen.<\/p>

Dit was de ervaring van Paulus in 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 12:7-10, toen hij driemaal smeekte om zijn doorn in het vlees te verwijderen. De Heer antwoordde:, \u201cMijn genade is u genoeg, want mijn kracht wordt in zwakheid volmaakt.\u201d<\/em> Paulus kon dan zeggen:, \u201cWant wanneer ik zwak ben, dan ben ik sterk.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

God wordt verheerlijkt wanneer we volharden door op Zijn kracht te vertrouwen. En daardoor gebeurt er iets met ons: we ontwikkelen hoop. Romeinen 5:3-5 zegt: \u201cVerdrukking brengt volharding voort, volharding karakter en karakter hoop. En de hoop stelt niet teleur, want de liefde van God is door de Heilige Geest in onze harten uitgestort.\u201d<\/em> Hoop herinnert ons eraan dat de dood niet het einde is. De crisis waarmee je geconfronteerd wordt, is niet het einde van het verhaal, maar onderdeel van het proces dat leidt naar Gods hogere plan.<\/p>

Psalm 42 bemoedigt ons wanneer verdriet ons overweldigt: \u201cWaarom ben je zo neerslachtig, mijn ziel? En waarom ben je zo onrustig vanbinnen? Hoop op God, want ik zal Hem nog prijzen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Spreuken 10:28 zegt: \u201cDe hoop van de rechtvaardigen zal vreugde brengen, maar de verwachting van de goddelozen zal vergaan.\u201d<\/em> Je hebt het misschien nu moeilijk, maar Jezus heeft ons gewezen op eeuwige hoop: \u201cLaat uw hart niet verontrust zijn\u2026 Ik ga heen om een plaats voor u te bereiden\u2026 Ik zal terugkomen en u tot Mij nemen.\u201d<\/em> (Johannes 14:1-3). De ultieme grondslag van onze hoop is de hemel zelf.<\/p>

Dit is ons verwachte eindpunt. Al het andere maakt deel uit van het proces. Zoals 1 Petrus 1:3-5 ons eraan herinnert, heeft God ons opnieuw verwekt tot een levende hoop door de opstanding van Christus, tot een onvergankelijke en onbevlekte erfenis, die in de hemel voor ons is weggelegd.\u00a0<\/p>
