Do Not Be Afraid.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1cdc413 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1cdc413\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"129\" data-end=\"196\"><em>\u201cBut He said to them, \u2018It is I; do not be afraid.\u2019\u201d<\/em><br \/><em><strong data-start=\"129\" data-end=\"196\">John 6:20<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"198\" data-end=\"499\">It is interesting that the account of Jesus calming the storm appears between the feeding of the five thousand with five small barley loaves and two fish, and the Lord\u2019s declaration, \u201cI am the Bread of Life.\u201d This is actually very significant, as it forms a foundation for the seven \u201cI am\u201d statements.<\/p><p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"1002\">From <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gospel of Matthew<\/span><\/span>\u2019s account, we learn that the Lord compelled\u2014constrained, or strongly urged\u2014His disciples to get into the boat and go before Him to the other side (Matt. 14:22). When the storm arose, causing the wind and waves to toss their boat about, it was then that the Lord appeared. While they were in the midst of the storm, the Lord Jesus had been on the mountain praying. This is a picture of Him as our great High Priest, who ever lives to make intercession for us.<\/p><p data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1274\">It was in this moment, in the midst of the storm, that the Lord revealed Himself. He appeared to them during their darkest time and said, \u201cIt is I; do not be afraid.\u201d This is a powerful statement. The phrase \u201cIt is I,\u201d in the Greek <em data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1246\">ego eimi<\/em>, can be translated, \u201cI Am.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"1276\" data-end=\"1536\">The Great I AM appeared to them in the midst of the storm they were going through, and when they willingly received Him into their boat, the storm ceased. The Lord had no desire for them to remain ignorant of who He was, nor did He want them to remain in fear.<\/p><p data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"2128\">In <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gospel of John<\/span><\/span> 18:6, when the soldiers came to arrest the Lord Jesus and He asked, \u201cWhom are you seeking?\u201d they replied, \u201cJesus of Nazareth,\u201d and He declared, \u201cI am He.\u201d This statement caused those who did not believe in Him to draw back and fall to the ground. Yet in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gospel of Luke<\/span><\/span> 24:39, these same words\u2014\u201cIt is I Myself\u201d\u2014removed the fear from the troubled hearts of His followers. The same was true for the aged apostle <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">John the Apostle<\/span><\/span>, who was revived by the declaration, \u201cI am the First and the Last\u201d (Rev. 1:17).<\/p><p data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2350\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Anchor For Today:<\/strong><br \/>When you pass through the storms of this life and fear begins to engulf you, remember that it is then that the Lord Jesus, the great I AM, reveals Himself in a powerful way and says, \u201cBe of good cheer; do not be afraid.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It Is I.
