Les corbeaux lui apportaient du pain et de la viande le matin, et du pain et de la viande le soir\u00a0; et il buvait au torrent. Au bout d\u2019un certain temps, le torrent s\u2019ass\u00e9cha, parce qu\u2019il n\u2019y avait pas eu de pluie dans le pays.\u201d<br \/><strong>1 Rois 17:4-7<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Le Seigneur avait ordonn\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00c9lie de se rendre au torrent de Kerith et de s&#039;y cacher. \u00c9lie se retrouvait alors en public, devant le roi Achab, d\u00e9clarant qu&#039;il ne pleuvrait pas. Jacques 5:17-18 l\u00e8ve le voile sur cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement et nous apprend qu&#039;\u201c \u00c9lie \u00e9tait un homme semblable \u00e0 nous, et il pria avec ferveur pour qu&#039;il ne pleuve pas ; et il ne plut pas sur le pays pendant trois ans et six mois. Puis il pria de nouveau, et le ciel donna de la pluie, et la terre produisit son fruit. \u201d Le fait qu&#039;il se soit cach\u00e9 \u00e0 Kerith n&#039;avait pas pour but d&#039;apprendre \u00e0 prier ; il \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 un homme de pri\u00e8re. Ce geste visait \u00e0 enseigner \u00e0 \u00c9lie que l&#039;\u00e9go\u00efsme n&#039;avait pas sa place au service du Seigneur. Comme l&#039;a dit C.H. Mackintosh : \u201c Notre temps de formation dans le secret doit largement d\u00e9passer notre temps d&#039;action publique. \u201d<\/p><p>Ce temps pass\u00e9 seul avec le Seigneur fut pr\u00e9cieux pour \u00c9lie d&#039;une autre mani\u00e8re. Il lui apprit que Dieu seul \u00e9tait son pourvoyeur. \u00c9lie avait de l&#039;eau \u00e0 boire, et le Seigneur ordonna aux corbeaux de le nourrir. Lorsque nous sommes au c\u0153ur de la volont\u00e9 de Dieu, il pourvoit \u00e0 tous nos besoins. Le corbeau \u00e9tait un oiseau impur (L\u00e9vitique 11:13-19), pourtant le Seigneur voulait montrer \u00e0 son serviteur qu&#039;il \u00e9tait souverain et qu&#039;il subviendrait \u00e0 ses besoins m\u00eame lorsqu&#039;il se cachait. Le Seigneur lui envoyait du pain et de la viande matin et soir par l&#039;interm\u00e9diaire de ces corbeaux, tandis qu&#039;il buvait aussi \u00e0 la source.<\/p><p>Lorsque le torrent s&#039;ass\u00e9cha, le Seigneur qui avait pourvu \u00e0 tous nos besoins \u00e9tait toujours avec \u00c9lie ! L&#039;ass\u00e8chement du torrent ne le prit pas au d\u00e9pourvu. Son amour pour \u00c9lie ne fut pas entrav\u00e9 par cet ass\u00e9chage, et il garda le contr\u00f4le. Lorsque les sources de nos vies s&#039;ass\u00e8chent, souvenons-nous que le Seigneur est capable de pourvoir \u00e0 nos besoins. La gr\u00e2ce qui nous a sauv\u00e9s est aussi celle qui peut nous soutenir, et sa gr\u00e2ce bienfaisante dans nos vies suffit \u00e0 combler tous nos besoins !<\/p><p><strong>Ancre du jour :<\/strong><br \/>La providence du Seigneur fut possible car \u00c9lie s&#039;\u00e9tait cach\u00e9, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le Seigneur le lui avait ordonn\u00e9.
