Nous connaissons l&#039;histoire, mais ce qui me fascine, c&#039;est que, pendant toute sa fuite, Jonas savait que Dieu \u00e9tait patient ! Voyez ce qu&#039;il dit dans Jonas 4:1-2 : \u201c Mais cela d\u00e9plut fortement \u00e0 Jonas, et il se mit en col\u00e8re. Il pria l&#039;\u00c9ternel et dit : \u2018 Ah ! \u00c9ternel, n&#039;est-ce pas ce que je disais quand j&#039;\u00e9tais encore dans mon pays ? C&#039;est pourquoi j&#039;ai fui auparavant \u00e0 Tarsis ; car je sais que tu es un Dieu de gr\u00e2ce et de mis\u00e9ricorde, lent \u00e0 la col\u00e8re et riche en bont\u00e9, qui se repent du mal qu&#039;il a r\u00e9solu de faire. \u2019 \u201d Jonas savait que c&#039;est cela, le Dieu de la patience !<\/p><p>Paul rappelle \u00e0 Timoth\u00e9e et \u00e0 chaque pr\u00e9dicateur : \u201c Pr\u00eachez la parole ! Soyez pr\u00eats en toute occasion, favorable ou non. Convainquez, reprenez, exhortez, avec toute patience et en instruisant \u201d (2 Timoth\u00e9e 4.2). Parfois, nous attendons des membres de l&#039;assembl\u00e9e ou des nouveaux croyants qu&#039;ils comprennent du jour au lendemain, mais nous oublions combien de temps il nous a fallu pour comprendre et combien Dieu a \u00e9t\u00e9 patient envers nous !<\/p><p>Nous avons tous fait l&#039;exp\u00e9rience de la patience de Dieu dans nos vies. Il nous arrive m\u00eame de dire aux autres : \u201c Soyez patients avec moi ; Dieu n&#039;a pas encore fini son \u0153uvre en moi. \u201d Le paradoxe est que nous souhaitons que les autres soient patients avec nous, mais que nous ne sommes pas toujours aussi dispos\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#039;\u00eatre envers autrui ! Or, si nous sommes remplis et guid\u00e9s par le Saint-Esprit, la patience, ou la longanimit\u00e9, sera l&#039;une des manifestations de cette guidance (Galates 5:22).<\/p><p>\u00c9ph\u00e9siens 4.2-3 nous exhorte \u00e0 \u201c vivre en toute humilit\u00e9 et douceur, avec patience, vous supportant les uns les autres avec amour, vous effor\u00e7ant de conserver l\u2019unit\u00e9 de l\u2019Esprit par le lien de la paix \u201d. Si l\u2019amour qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9pandu en nous nous anime, il convient de le manifester. Un des enseignements du chapitre consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019amour (1 Corinthiens 13) est que \u201c l\u2019amour est patient \u201d.\u201c<\/p><p>Paul savait combien la patience et la longanimit\u00e9 \u00e9taient importantes, et il les mentionne \u00e0 maintes reprises dans ses \u00e9crits au peuple de Dieu. Dans Colossiens 1:9-11, il prie : \u201c C\u2019est pourquoi, depuis le jour o\u00f9 nous l\u2019avons appris, nous ne cessons de prier pour vous et de demander que vous soyez remplis de la connaissance de sa volont\u00e9, en toute sagesse et intelligence spirituelle, afin que vous marchiez d\u2019une mani\u00e8re digne du Seigneur, lui plaisant en toutes choses, portant du fruit en toute bonne \u0153uvre et croissant dans la connaissance de Dieu, fortifi\u00e9s \u00e0 tous \u00e9gards par sa puissance glorieuse, pour toute patience et longanimit\u00e9, avec joie. \u201d Plus loin dans le m\u00eame livre, il dit : \u201c Ainsi donc, comme des \u00e9lus de Dieu, saints et bien-aim\u00e9s, rev\u00eatez-vous de compassion, de bont\u00e9, d\u2019humilit\u00e9, de douceur, de longanimit\u00e9. Supportez-vous les uns les autres, et pardonnez-vous r\u00e9ciproquement, si quelqu\u2019un a sujet de se plaindre d\u2019un autre. Comme Christ vous a pardonn\u00e9, pardonnez-vous aussi. \u201d (Colossiens 3:12-13).<\/p><p>Peut-\u00eatre que l&#039;une des raisons pour lesquelles nous avons tant de relations bris\u00e9es, tant de probl\u00e8mes familiaux et tant de troubles au sein des communaut\u00e9s est que nous avons perdu de vue la patience infinie du Dieu de la patience\u00a0! Peut-\u00eatre est-ce aussi pour cela que nous sommes si prompts \u00e0 nous rejeter et \u00e0 nous ignorer les uns les autres\u00a0!<\/p><p><strong>Ancre du jour :<\/strong><br \/>Puissions-nous le consid\u00e9rer de plus en plus comme le Dieu de la patience, et puisse-t-il nous aider \u00e0 manifester cette m\u00eame patience les uns envers les autres !<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Patience of God Think of just how patient God was with Jonah.
