Nourris-moi du pain qui m\u2019est donn\u00e9, de peur qu\u2019apr\u00e8s ma sati\u00e9t\u00e9 je ne te renie et ne dise\u00a0: \u2018\u00a0Qui est l\u2019\u00c9ternel\u00a0?\u00a0\u2019 Ou que, dans la pauvret\u00e9 je ne vole et ne profane le nom de mon Dieu. \u201d<br \/><strong>Proverbes 30:7-9<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>La plupart d&#039;entre nous connaissent sans doute la pri\u00e8re de Jabez, mais que pensez-vous de celle d&#039;Agur\u00a0? Il s&#039;agit en fait de la seule pri\u00e8re consign\u00e9e dans le livre des Proverbes. Il demandait au Seigneur deux choses pr\u00e9cises\u00a0: l&#039;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 et le contentement.<\/p><p>Agur aspirait \u00e0 une vie int\u00e8gre devant son Dieu, une vie exempte de mensonge et de fausset\u00e9. Le mot \u00ab\u00a0fausset\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9signe le vide ou la vanit\u00e9, tandis que le mot \u00ab\u00a0mensonge\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9signe la tromperie ou la duplicit\u00e9. Ces deux mots saisissent l&#039;essence m\u00eame de ce monde, avec ses promesses vaines et ses man\u0153uvres trompeuses. Agur ne prie pas seulement pour avoir le courage de dire la v\u00e9rit\u00e9\u00a0; il prie pour \u00eatre pr\u00e9serv\u00e9 de la s\u00e9duction du mensonge et de tout ce qui est contraire \u00e0 la v\u00e9rit\u00e9.<\/p><p>On dit souvent\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0La r\u00e9putation, c\u2019est ce que les gens pensent de vous\u00a0; l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9, c\u2019est ce que vous \u00eates en l\u2019absence de t\u00e9moins.\u00a0\u201d Ce monde cherche \u00e0 d\u00e9tourner notre attention du Seigneur par de fausses promesses, de faux espoirs et de faux plaisirs. Mais la Parole de V\u00e9rit\u00e9, la Bible, nous conduit vers Celui qui est la V\u00e9rit\u00e9\u00a0: le Seigneur J\u00e9sus-Christ. Agur ne se faisait pas confiance et ne se fiait pas \u00e0 la chair.<\/p><p>L\u2019ap\u00f4tre Jean nous exhorte : \u201c N\u2019aimez pas le monde ni ce qui est dans le monde. Si quelqu\u2019un aime le monde, l\u2019amour du P\u00e8re n\u2019est pas en lui. Car tout ce qui est dans le monde \u2013 la convoitise de la chair, la convoitise des yeux et l\u2019orgueil de la vie \u2013 ne vient pas du P\u00e8re, mais du monde. Et le monde passe, et sa convoitise aussi ; mais celui qui fait la volont\u00e9 de Dieu demeure \u00e9ternellement \u201d (1 Jean 2:15-17).<\/p><p>L\u2019ap\u00f4tre Jacques nous avertit \u00e9galement\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Ne savez-vous pas que l\u2019amiti\u00e9 du monde est inimiti\u00e9 contre Dieu\u00a0? Celui donc qui veut \u00eatre ami du monde se rend ennemi de Dieu\u00a0\u201d (Jacques 4.4). David priait\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0D\u00e9tourne mes yeux des choses vaines, et fais-moi revivre dans ta voie\u00a0\u201d (Psaume 119.37). C\u2019est l\u00e0 le sens profond de Matthieu 6.13\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Ne nous soumets pas \u00e0 la tentation, mais d\u00e9livre-nous du mal. Car c\u2019est \u00e0 toi qu\u2019appartiennent le r\u00e8gne, la puissance et la gloire, pour les si\u00e8cles des si\u00e8cles.\u00a0\u201d<\/p><p><strong>Ancre du jour :<\/strong><br \/>Avons-nous la sagesse et la d\u00e9votion d\u2019Agur\u00a0?
