La peur avait saisi son c\u0153ur, et lorsqu&#039;une telle peur nous paralyse, nous sommes incapables de lutter contre le courant du monde. L&#039;acronyme Fear signifie \u00ab\u00a0Fear is Faithless Energy and Retreat\u00a0\u00bb (La peur est une \u00e9nergie sans foi ni r\u00e9alit\u00e9, et elle est une fuite). Paul ne voulait pas que Timoth\u00e9e vive dans cette situation\u00a0; il ne voulait pas qu&#039;il ait honte du Christ. Paul oriente Timoth\u00e9e vers une ressource merveilleuse dont dispose chaque croyant\u00a0: l&#039;Homme dans la gloire\u00a0! <em data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"912\">J\u00e9sus-Christ<\/em> Cette expression est utilis\u00e9e au moins sept fois et fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au Seigneur J\u00e9sus au ciel, \u00e0 la droite de Dieu \u2013 un lieu de puissance, d&#039;autorit\u00e9 et de ressource pour chaque croyant, quel que soit le chaos qui r\u00e8gne dans sa culture.<\/p><p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1869\">Paul comprenait la peur de Timoth\u00e9e, mais il l&#039;encouragea en partageant sa propre exp\u00e9rience et sa confiance, disant\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0C&#039;est pourquoi moi aussi je souffre ces choses\u00a0; mais je n&#039;en ai pas honte, car je sais en qui j&#039;ai cru, et je suis persuad\u00e9 qu&#039;il a la puissance de garder ce que je lui ai confi\u00e9 jusqu&#039;\u00e0 ce jour-l\u00e0\u00a0\u201d (2 Timoth\u00e9e 1.12). Dans ce verset, Paul rappelle \u00e0 Timoth\u00e9e \u2013 et \u00e0 nous \u2013 que nous avons besoin d&#039;une connaissance personnelle de notre Dieu. Il pourrait dire\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Je sais en qui j&#039;ai cru.\u00a0\u201d Puis il nous rappelle qu&#039;il doit y avoir une conviction personnelle\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Je suis persuad\u00e9 qu&#039;il a la puissance de garder.\u00a0\u201d Troisi\u00e8mement, Paul nous encourage \u00e0 nous engager personnellement\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Garde ce que j&#039;ai confi\u00e9.\u00a0\u201d La confiance de Paul ne reposait pas sur lui-m\u00eame, mais sur son Dieu, qui est tout-puissant\u00a0! Cela t\u00e9moigne de la puissance et de la force de notre Dieu.<\/p><p data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"2616\">Lorsque nous concentrons notre attention sur le Christ, sa puissance et sa force, nous pourrons demeurer fermes sur le mod\u00e8le des saines paroles (2 Timoth\u00e9e 1.13). L&#039;id\u00e9e d&#039;un mod\u00e8le de saines paroles \u00e9voque la structure de nos pens\u00e9es et souligne l&#039;importance de savoir ce que nous croyons et pourquoi nous le croyons. Pierre nous rappelle, en tant que disciples de J\u00e9sus-Christ, de \u201c sanctifier le Seigneur Dieu dans vos c\u0153urs, et d&#039;\u00eatre toujours pr\u00eats \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 quiconque vous demande raison de l&#039;esp\u00e9rance qui est en vous, avec douceur et respect \u201d (1 Pierre 3.15). Pour cela, nous devons savoir ce que nous croyons et pourquoi nous le croyons.
