Le peuple de Juda avait perdu de vue l\u2019amour que Dieu lui portait. Mo\u00efse le leur avait rappel\u00e9., <em data-start=\"304\" data-end=\"507\">\u201c Vous \u00eates un peuple saint pour l\u2019\u00c9ternel, votre Dieu ; l\u2019\u00c9ternel, votre Dieu, vous a choisis pour \u00eatre son peuple, un peuple pr\u00e9cieux entre tous les peuples qui sont sur la face de la terre\u2026 car l\u2019\u00c9ternel vous aime. \u201d<\/em> (Deut. 7:6-8). Plus tard, J\u00e9r\u00e9mie les a assur\u00e9s de l&#039;amour \u00e9ternel de Dieu\u00a0: <em data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"621\">\u201c Je t\u2019ai aim\u00e9 d\u2019un amour \u00e9ternel \u201d<\/em> (J\u00e9r. 31:3).<\/p><p data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"974\">Dieu avait manifest\u00e9 son amour de mani\u00e8re concr\u00e8te\u00a0: en les choisissant de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux descendants d\u2019\u00c9sa\u00fc, en les aidant \u00e0 revenir d\u2019exil et \u00e0 reconstruire des lieux d\u00e9sol\u00e9s, et en leur permettant de constater sa grandeur manifest\u00e9e au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res d\u2019Isra\u00ebl (Malachie 1:2-5). Pourtant, malgr\u00e9 tout cela, ils continuaient de l\u2019interroger, lui demandant\u00a0:, <em data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"974\">\u201c De quelle mani\u00e8re nous as-tu aim\u00e9s ? \u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1472\">Nous ne sommes pas si diff\u00e9rents aujourd&#039;hui. Nos c\u0153urs peuvent facilement s&#039;endurcir face \u00e0 son amour, et nous oublions que <em data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1191\">\u201c Et voici en quoi consiste l\u2019amour\u00a0: ce n\u2019est pas nous qui avons aim\u00e9 Dieu, mais c\u2019est lui qui nous a aim\u00e9s et qui a envoy\u00e9 son Fils comme victime expiatoire pour nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s. \u201d<\/em> (1 Jean 4:10). Lorsque nous perdons de vue son grand amour pour nous, nos c\u0153urs se tournent peu \u00e0 peu vers d&#039;autres choses. C&#039;est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment ce qui est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#039;\u00c9glise d&#039;\u00c9ph\u00e8se\u00a0: elle a abandonn\u00e9 son premier amour (Apocalypse 2:4). Bien qu&#039;occup\u00e9e par de nombreuses bonnes actions, son affection pour le Christ s&#039;\u00e9tait refroidie.<\/p><p data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1779\">Il en fut de m\u00eame pour Juda au temps de Malachie. Ils commenc\u00e8rent \u00e0 rechercher la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 mat\u00e9rielle comme preuve de l&#039;amour de Dieu et devinrent aveugles \u00e0 tout ce qu&#039;il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait pour eux.
