Puis, ayant ouvert leurs tr\u00e9sors, ils lui offrirent en pr\u00e9sents de l&#039;or, de l&#039;encens et de la myrrhe.<br \/><strong data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"137\">Matthieu 2:11<\/strong><br \/><\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"403\" data-end=\"701\">Le chapitre deux de Matthieu s&#039;ouvre en nous disant, <em data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"701\">\u201c Or, apr\u00e8s la naissance de J\u00e9sus \u00e0 Bethl\u00e9em de Jud\u00e9e, au temps du roi H\u00e9rode, voici que des mages venus d&#039;Orient arriv\u00e8rent \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem, disant : \u2018 O\u00f9 est le roi des Juifs qui vient de na\u00eetre ? Car nous avons vu son \u00e9toile en Orient et nous sommes venus l&#039;adorer. \u2019<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"1125\">Remarquez qu&#039;il n&#039;est pas pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 le nombre de rois mages. Beaucoup ont suppos\u00e9 qu&#039;ils \u00e9taient trois en raison des trois pr\u00e9sents \u2014 l&#039;or, l&#039;encens et la myrrhe (Matthieu 2:11) \u2014 mais la Bible ne le mentionne pas. On ne nous dit ni leurs noms, ni leur moyen de transport, ni m\u00eame leurs pays d&#039;origine. Ce qui nous est dit, c&#039;est qu&#039;ils \u00e9taient des rois mages. Le mot grec utilis\u00e9 dans Matthieu 2:1, 7 et 16 est <em data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1108\">magos<\/em> (pluriel <em data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1123\">mages<\/em>).<\/p><p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1380\">Ils ont vu <em data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1148\">\u201c Son \u00e9toile \u201d<\/em> et ils vinrent l\u2019adorer, non pas dans une \u00e9table, mais dans une maison. Cela indique que cette visite eut lieu quelque temps apr\u00e8s la naissance du Seigneur J\u00e9sus. Certains avancent que cela pourrait se produire entre quelques mois et deux ans plus tard.<\/p><p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1878\">Mais quelle \u00e9toile ont-ils vue, et comment en ont-ils connu la signification\u00a0? Il est fort probable que les mages connaissaient les \u00e9crits du proph\u00e8te Daniel, qui avait auparavant \u00e9t\u00e9 le chef des mages en Perse. Daniel 9:24-27 contient une proph\u00e9tie qui \u00e9tablit une chronologie relative \u00e0 la venue du Messie. De plus, les mages connaissaient peut-\u00eatre la proph\u00e9tie de Balaam \u2013 originaire de Pethor, pr\u00e8s de l\u2019Euphrate, non loin de la Perse \u2013 dans Nombres 24:17, qui parle de\u2026 <em data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"1878\">\u201c une \u00e9toile sort de Jacob. \u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"2057\">Ces mages \u00e9taient des hommes qui lisaient et croyaient en la Parole de Dieu. Ils recherchaient le Seigneur J\u00e9sus, reconnaissant sa valeur. Ils s&#039;humili\u00e8rent pour l&#039;adorer et lui offrirent des pr\u00e9sents dignes d&#039;un roi.<\/p><p data-start=\"2059\" data-end=\"2374\">Dans les versets 7 et 8, nous lisons le r\u00e9cit de la tromperie d&#039;H\u00e9rode, tel qu&#039;il l&#039;a expliqu\u00e9 aux sages, <em data-start=\"2135\" data-end=\"2273\">\u201c Allez et cherchez avec soin le petit enfant ; et quand vous l\u2019aurez trouv\u00e9, rapportez-le-moi, afin que j\u2019aille moi aussi l\u2019adorer. \u201d<\/em> Cependant, au verset 12, nous voyons que les mages ont ob\u00e9i \u00e0 Dieu plut\u00f4t qu&#039;aux hommes. Ils \u00e9taient v\u00e9ritablement des hommes sages.<\/p><p data-start=\"2376\" data-end=\"2648\">En cette p\u00e9riode de l&#039;ann\u00e9e, il est facile d&#039;oublier la v\u00e9ritable raison de la venue du Christ au monde. Nous pouvons \u00eatre accapar\u00e9s et distraits par bien des choses. Mais ces rois mages ne se sont pas laiss\u00e9s d\u00e9tourner du but de leur voyage. Ils sont venus, ils se sont prostern\u00e9s et ils l&#039;ont ador\u00e9.
