Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crit par Johnson Oatman Jr. en 1897 et est bas\u00e9 sur 1 Thessaloniciens 5:18., <em data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"433\">\u201c Rendez gr\u00e2ces en toutes choses, car telle est la volont\u00e9 de Dieu en J\u00e9sus-Christ \u00e0 votre \u00e9gard. \u201d<\/em> Quelqu&#039;un a dit un jour de <em data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"477\">Comptez vos b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions<\/em>, \u201c C\u2019est comme un rayon de soleil qui a illumin\u00e9 les recoins sombres de la terre. \u201d \u00c0 ses d\u00e9buts, ce style \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement populaire en Grande-Bretagne, o\u00f9 l\u2019on disait\u00a0:, <em data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"733\">\u201c Les hommes le chantent, les gar\u00e7ons le sifflent et les femmes bercent leurs b\u00e9b\u00e9s au son de cet hymne. \u201d<\/em> Lors du renouveau religieux au Pays de Galles, c&#039;\u00e9tait l&#039;un des hymnes chant\u00e9s \u00e0 chaque office.<\/p><p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"1299\">L&#039;encouragement, si pr\u00e9cieux, \u00e0 \u201c compter ses b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions \u201d est souvent mal compris.
