Alors les scribes et les pharisiens amen\u00e8rent \u00e0 lui une femme surprise en flagrant d\u00e9lit d'adult\u00e8re. L'ayant plac\u00e9e au milieu d'eux, ils lui dirent\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Ma\u00eetre, cette femme a \u00e9t\u00e9 surprise en flagrant d\u00e9lit d'adult\u00e8re. Or, Mo\u00efse nous a ordonn\u00e9, dans la loi, de lapider de telles femmes. Et toi, qu'en dis-tu\u00a0?\u00a0\u201d

Cette rencontre avec la femme prise en flagrant d\u00e9lit d'adult\u00e8re occupe les onze premiers versets du chapitre 8 de Jean. Elle ouvre un chapitre riche en contrastes et en conflits\u00a0: la gr\u00e2ce et la loi (vv. 1-11), la lumi\u00e8re et les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres (vv. 12-20), la vie et la mort (vv. 21-30), la libert\u00e9 et l'esclavage (vv. 31-47), l'honneur et le d\u00e9shonneur (vv. 48-59). Mais ce chapitre s'ouvre sur une rencontre directe et transformatrice entre cette femme et le Seigneur J\u00e9sus.<\/p>

Contrairement \u00e0 la femme atteinte d'h\u00e9morragie \u2014 mentionn\u00e9e dans Matthieu 9, Marc 5 et Luc 8 \u2014 qui s'est approch\u00e9e de J\u00e9sus de son plein gr\u00e9 et avec confiance, cette femme n'est pas venue de son plein gr\u00e9. forc\u00e9<\/em> Ils furent tra\u00een\u00e9s dans les cours du temple apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 surpris en flagrant d\u00e9lit d'adult\u00e8re. La sc\u00e8ne enti\u00e8re semble presque mise en sc\u00e8ne, car la premi\u00e8re question qui se pose est\u00a0: O\u00f9 est cet homme ?<\/strong><\/p>

La loi stipulait clairement que les deux<\/em> Les personnes surprises en flagrant d\u00e9lit d'adult\u00e8re devaient \u00eatre tenues responsables (L\u00e9vitique 20:10\u00a0; Deut\u00e9ronome 22:22). Alors pourquoi seule la femme a-t-elle \u00e9t\u00e9 traduite en justice\u00a0? Le texte apporte la r\u00e9ponse\u00a0: \u201c Ils disaient cela pour le mettre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve, afin d\u2019avoir de quoi l\u2019accuser. \u201d<\/em> (v. 6).<\/p>

Cette femme servait d'app\u00e2t dans leur tentative de pi\u00e9ger le Seigneur J\u00e9sus. Or, le Seigneur connaissait tous les hommes et savait ce qu'il y avait dans leur c\u0153ur (Jean 2:24-25). Il connaissait le c\u0153ur de ses accusateurs et celui de la femme qui se tenait devant lui.<\/p>

Au lieu de la juger imm\u00e9diatement, il a jug\u00e9 les juges<\/strong> et dit, \u201c Que celui d\u2019entre vous qui est sans p\u00e9ch\u00e9 lui jette le premier la pierre. \u201d <\/em>Selon la Loi, les accusateurs devaient jeter les premi\u00e8res pierres (Deut\u00e9ronome 17:7). Pris de remords par leur propre conscience, ils commenc\u00e8rent \u00e0 partir, du plus \u00e2g\u00e9 au plus jeune (v. 9).<\/p>

La femme se retrouva seule face au Seigneur J\u00e9sus. Lui, l'Innocent, \u00e9tait le seul pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 avoir le droit de la condamner. Peut-\u00eatre attendait-elle que le jugement sorte de ses l\u00e8vres justes. Mais au lieu de cela, elle entendit ces paroles de gr\u00e2ce\u00a0: \u201c Moi non plus, je ne te condamne pas ; va et ne p\u00e8che plus. \u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Sa sainte pr\u00e9sence a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 chaque c\u0153ur ce jour-l\u00e0, et Il continue de d\u00e9clarer, \u201c Je suis la lumi\u00e8re du monde. Celui qui me suit ne marchera pas dans les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres, mais il aura la lumi\u00e8re de la vie. \u201d<\/em><\/p>

Oh ! quel Sauveur est J\u00e9sus le Seigneur,
Que son nom soit ador\u00e9 par ses saints !
Il les a rachet\u00e9s de l'enfer par son sang,
Il les sauva pour toujours et les amena \u00e0 Dieu.<\/p>

Maintenant, dans la gloire, il attend de donner
Paix \u00e0 la conscience et joie au c\u0153ur \u2014
Attendre pour faire preuve de gr\u00e2ce, pour pardonner et gu\u00e9rir
Tous ceux qui ressentent leur p\u00e9ch\u00e9 et leur mis\u00e8re.<\/p>

Des milliers ont fui vers son c\u00f4t\u00e9 perc\u00e9 de lance,
Ils ont tous \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis, aucun n'a \u00e9t\u00e9 refus\u00e9 ;
Fatigu\u00e9s et charg\u00e9s, ils ont tous \u00e9t\u00e9 b\u00e9nis,
