\u201c Pourtant, ton p\u00e8re m\u2019a tromp\u00e9 et a chang\u00e9 mon salaire dix fois, mais Dieu ne lui a pas permis de me faire du mal. \u201d<\/em>
Gen\u00e8se 31:7<\/strong><\/p>

Le chemin de la vie est sem\u00e9 d'emb\u00fbches. Parfois, il ressemble m\u00eame \u00e0 des montagnes russes. C'\u00e9tait assur\u00e9ment le cas pour Jacob. La plupart de ses hauts et de ses bas \u00e9taient de son propre fait. Son nom signifiait supplanteur<\/em> ou trompeur.<\/em> D\u00e8s le ventre de sa m\u00e8re, lorsqu'il agrippait le talon de son fr\u00e8re, il semblait d\u00e9termin\u00e9 \u00e0 man\u0153uvrer pour parvenir \u00e0 ses fins.<\/p>

Jacob a pass\u00e9 une grande partie de sa vie \u00e0 tromper. Il a dup\u00e9 son fr\u00e8re \u00c9sa\u00fc pour le priver de son droit d'a\u00eenesse (Gen\u00e8se 25:29-34). Il a tromp\u00e9 son p\u00e8re Isaac pour obtenir la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction du premier-n\u00e9 (Gen\u00e8se 27). Il n'est donc pas \u00e9tonnant qu'il ait d\u00fb fuir pour sauver sa vie face \u00e0 la col\u00e8re d'\u00c9sa\u00fc (Gen\u00e8se 27:41-46). Pourtant, au chapitre 28 de la Gen\u00e8se, Jacob a rencontr\u00e9 le Seigneur d'une mani\u00e8re qui a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 transformer sa vie. Plus tard, lorsqu'il a rencontr\u00e9 la famille de Laban, il est rapidement tomb\u00e9 amoureux de Rachel et a accept\u00e9 de travailler sept ans pour l'\u00e9pouser. Mais Laban, le p\u00e8re de Rachel, a tromp\u00e9 Jacob en substituant L\u00e9a \u00e0 Rachel (Gen\u00e8se 29). Le pass\u00e9 de Jacob l'a rattrap\u00e9\u00a0: il r\u00e9coltait ce qu'il avait sem\u00e9.<\/p>

Au moment o\u00f9 nous arrivons au verset d'aujourd'hui, Jacob est de nouveau en fuite. Cette fois-ci, cependant, il suivait l'ordre du Seigneur de rentrer chez lui. En parlant avec Rachel, il admit que son p\u00e8re \u00e9tait contre lui, mais ajouta ensuite\u00a0: \u201c Mais Dieu ne lui a pas permis de me faire du mal. \u201d<\/em> Jacob commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 comprendre que Dieu est souverain et qu'il agit dans sa vie.<\/p>

Cette v\u00e9rit\u00e9 nous le rappelle aussi. Quoi qu'il arrive dans nos vies, rien n'\u00e9chappe au contr\u00f4le de Dieu. Il a un plan divin, et rien ne peut le contrecarrer ! Paul a exprim\u00e9 cette m\u00eame confiance lorsqu'il a \u00e9crit :<\/p>

\u201c Que dirons-nous donc de ces choses ? Si Dieu est pour nous, qui sera contre nous ? Lui qui n\u2019a pas \u00e9pargn\u00e9 son propre Fils, mais l\u2019a livr\u00e9 pour nous tous, comment ne nous donnerait-il pas aussi tout avec lui ? Qui accusera les \u00e9lus de Dieu ? C\u2019est Dieu qui justifie ! Qui condamnera ? Christ est mort, et bien plus, il est ressuscit\u00e9, il est \u00e0 la droite de Dieu, et en plus il interc\u00e8de pour nous ! Qui nous s\u00e9parera de l\u2019amour de Christ ? \u201d<\/em> (Rom. 8:31\u201335).<\/p>

Autrement dit: \u201c Mais Dieu ! \u201d<\/em><\/p>
