Magnifier, c\u2019est faire grandir, louer, honorer, se glorifier, exalter, promouvoir et d\u00e9clarer grand. Comment magnifier Dieu\u00a0? On peut interpr\u00e9ter le mot \u00ab\u00a0magnifier\u00a0\u00bb de deux mani\u00e8res diff\u00e9rentes. On peut l\u2019envisager comme un microscope ou une loupe, qui agrandit les petits objets, ou comme un t\u00e9lescope, qui rapproche ce qui est lointain et immense. Une vie qui magnifie le Seigneur fait pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment cela. C\u2019est une vie qui rapproche Dieu de ceux qu\u2019elle rencontre\u00a0!\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><b>La vie du Seigneur J\u00e9sus<\/b>\u00a0<\/div><div>C\u2019est ce qu\u2019a accompli la vie du Seigneur J\u00e9sus. Sa vie, parfaite, a glorifi\u00e9 et magnifi\u00e9 Dieu. Dans le Psaume 69, nous lisons les sentiments et les souffrances int\u00e9rieures du Seigneur J\u00e9sus (Ps. 69:2-4, 7-12, 20-21). Mais nous voyons aussi ce qu\u2019une telle vie a accompli pour la gloire de Dieu lorsque le Psaume dit, parlant proph\u00e9tiquement du Seigneur\u00a0:, <i>\u201c Je louerai le nom de Dieu par un chant, et je le glorifierai par des actions de gr\u00e2ces. \u201d<\/i> (Ps. 69:30). Dans H\u00e9breux 10:5, nous voyons que le Seigneur J\u00e9sus \u00e9tait pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment l&#039;instrument par lequel Dieu se serait rapproch\u00e9 de nous. Nous lisons\u00a0:, <i>\u201c Tu n\u2019as voulu ni sacrifice ni offrande, mais tu m\u2019as pr\u00e9par\u00e9 un corps. \u201d <\/i>Ces versets sont tir\u00e9s du Psaume 40, un Psaume qui parle du Seigneur comme de l&#039;holocauste, mais qui poursuit en d\u00e9clarant\u00a0:, <i>\u201c Que tous ceux qui te cherchent se r\u00e9jouissent et soient dans l\u2019all\u00e9gresse en toi ; que ceux qui aiment ton salut disent sans cesse : \u201dQue le Seigneur soit glorifi\u00e9 !\u201d \u00bb<\/i> (Ps. 40:16). C\u2019est ce qu\u2019a fait la vie du Seigneur J\u00e9sus. Il a glorifi\u00e9 Dieu en tout point et, ce faisant, il nous l\u2019a rapproch\u00e9. L\u2019\u00c9criture dit\u00a0:, <i>\u201c Au commencement \u00e9tait la Parole, et la Parole \u00e9tait avec Dieu, et la Parole \u00e9tait Dieu. \u201d<\/i> et ensuite, t<i>\u201d La Parole est devenue chair et a habit\u00e9 parmi nous, et nous avons contempl\u00e9 sa gloire pleine de gr\u00e2ce et de v\u00e9rit\u00e9. \u00bb <\/i>(Jean 1:1, 14). Dans Jean 14:9, il pourrait dire\u00a0:, <i>\u201c Si vous m\u2019avez vu, vous avez vu le P\u00e8re. \u201d <\/i>Il a magnifi\u00e9 Dieu. Il \u00e9tait<i> \u201c Dieu manifest\u00e9 dans la chair \u201d,\u201d<\/i> Par son corps et \u00e0 travers lui, il a rapproch\u00e9 Dieu de nous afin que nous puissions contempler sa grandeur.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><b>Nos vies\u00a0<\/b><\/div><div>Nos vies devraient aussi glorifier Dieu ! Je crois que l&#039;\u00c9criture nous enseigne que tout notre \u00eatre devrait glorifier Dieu : notre esprit, notre \u00e2me et notre corps. Marie a dit dans Luc 1:46 :, <i>\u201c Mon \u00e2me exalte le Seigneur. \u201d<\/i> L&#039;\u00e2me est le si\u00e8ge de nos \u00e9motions ; aussi, au plus profond d&#039;elle-m\u00eame, elle d\u00e9sirait magnifier son Dieu. Jean-Baptiste nourrissait le m\u00eame d\u00e9sir lorsqu&#039;il disait du Seigneur J\u00e9sus :, <i>\u201c Il faut qu\u2019il croisse, et que je diminue. \u201d <\/i>(Jean 3:30). Nous devrions nous aussi avoir ce m\u00eame d\u00e9sir que le Seigneur soit glorifi\u00e9 non seulement au plus profond de notre \u00eatre, mais aussi dans et par notre corps ! Paul l&#039;\u00e9voque en disant :, <i>\u201c Ignorez-vous que votre corps est le temple du Saint-Esprit qui est en vous, que vous avez re\u00e7u de Dieu, et que vous ne vous appartenez pas \u00e0 vous-m\u00eames\u00a0? Car vous avez \u00e9t\u00e9 rachet\u00e9s \u00e0 un grand prix. Glorifiez donc Dieu dans votre corps et dans votre esprit, qui appartiennent \u00e0 Dieu. \u201d <\/i>Dans Romains 12:1-2, il dit\u00a0:,<i> \u201c Je vous exhorte donc, fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs, par la mis\u00e9ricorde de Dieu, \u00e0 offrir vos corps comme un sacrifice vivant, saint et agr\u00e9able \u00e0 Dieu\u00a0; ce sera l\u00e0 votre culte raisonnable. Ne vous conformez pas \u00e0 ce monde, mais soyez transform\u00e9s par le renouvellement de votre intelligence, afin de discerner la volont\u00e9 de Dieu\u00a0: ce qui est bon, agr\u00e9able et parfait. \u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Un exemple de ce genre de vie se trouve dans Daniel 1:8 et 3:28. Ils avaient fait le choix de vivre pour Dieu et de ne se prosterner devant aucun autre dieu\u00a0! Et, de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s concr\u00e8te, leur vie a rendu la pr\u00e9sence de Dieu visible \u00e0 tous\u00a0!\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Paul \u00e9tait pr\u00eat \u00e0 donner sa vie pour glorifier Dieu. Il d\u00e9sirait magnifier le Seigneur par sa vie ou par sa mort. Cela lui \u00e9tait indiff\u00e9rent. \u00c9coutez ce qu&#039;il dit dans Philippiens 1:20-25\u00a0:, <i>\u201c\u00a0Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 ma ferme attente et \u00e0 mon esp\u00e9rance que je n\u2019aurai honte de rien, et avec une pleine assurance, comme toujours, maintenant encore, Christ sera glorifi\u00e9 dans mon corps, soit par ma vie, soit par ma mort. Car pour moi, vivre, c\u2019est Christ, et mourir est un gain. Si je continue \u00e0 vivre dans la chair, cela signifiera que mon travail porte du fruit\u00a0; mais je ne sais pas ce que je choisirai. Car je suis press\u00e9 des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s\u00a0: j\u2019ai le d\u00e9sir de m\u2019en aller et d\u2019\u00eatre avec Christ, ce qui est de beaucoup pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable. Cependant, il est plus n\u00e9cessaire pour vous que je demeure dans la chair. Et, persuad\u00e9 de cela, je sais que je resterai et que je continuerai \u00e0 \u00eatre avec vous tous pour votre progr\u00e8s et votre joie dans la foi.\u00a0\u201d <\/i><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Paul d\u00e9sirait rejoindre le Christ, mais il souhaitait aussi que les saints de Philippes grandissent spirituellement avec Dieu. Il voulait que leurs vies portent du fruit pour la gloire de Dieu et que leur foi soit emplie de la joie qui d\u00e9coule d&#039;une vie v\u00e9cue pour le Christ\u00a0! Ainsi, par la mort ou par la vie, il d\u00e9sirait magnifier le Christ et le rapprocher d&#039;eux.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00c0 la fin de sa vie, Paul pourrait dire, <i>\u201c Car d\u00e9j\u00e0 je suis offert en sacrifice, et le moment de mon d\u00e9part est proche. J\u2019ai combattu le bon combat, j\u2019ai achev\u00e9 la course, j\u2019ai gard\u00e9 la foi. D\u00e9sormais, la couronne de justice m\u2019est r\u00e9serv\u00e9e\u00a0; le Seigneur, le juste Juge, me la donnera en ce jour-l\u00e0, et non seulement \u00e0 moi, mais aussi \u00e0 tous ceux qui auront aim\u00e9 son av\u00e8nement. \u201d <\/i>(2 Timoth\u00e9e 4:6-8).
