Jes\u00fas le respondi\u00f3: \u2018No te digo hasta siete veces, sino hasta setenta veces siete\u2019.\u201d<br \/><strong>Mateo 18:21-22<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>En Mateo 18, nuestro Se\u00f1or no solo nos dio un modelo para tratar con quienes nos han ofendido, sino que tambi\u00e9n nos present\u00f3 un modelo de perd\u00f3n. Pedro hizo una pregunta que quiz\u00e1s muchos nos hemos planteado: \u00bfCu\u00e1ntas veces debo perdonar a alguien que ha pecado contra m\u00ed? Pedro pens\u00f3 que siete veces ser\u00edan suficientes para mostrar paciencia hacia el ofensor. Pero el Se\u00f1or responde: no siete veces, sino setenta veces siete. Cuando Pedro oy\u00f3 490, seguramente pens\u00f3: \u201c\u00bfQui\u00e9n podr\u00eda llevar la cuenta de tantas ofensas?\u201d. \u00a1Pero ese es el punto! \u00a1Para cuando has perdonado a una persona tantas veces, ya tienes el h\u00e1bito de perdonar!<\/p><p>Para ilustrar su punto, nuestro Se\u00f1or cuenta una par\u00e1bola sobre un siervo que ten\u00eda una gran deuda con un rey. No pod\u00eda pagarla, y el rey iba a confiscarle a \u00e9l, a su familia y todo lo que hab\u00eda vendido para saldarla. El siervo le rog\u00f3 al rey que tuviera paciencia y prometi\u00f3 pagar su deuda. El rey se compadeci\u00f3 de \u00e9l e incluso le perdon\u00f3 la deuda. Pero este siervo sali\u00f3 y apres\u00f3 a alguien que le deb\u00eda una cantidad mucho menor en comparaci\u00f3n. Cuando el rey se enter\u00f3 de lo que hab\u00eda hecho, lo mand\u00f3 entregar a los torturadores.<\/p><p>Esta par\u00e1bola no trata sobre la salvaci\u00f3n, sino sobre perdonarnos unos a otros. Nos recuerda que se nos ha perdonado una deuda que jam\u00e1s podr\u00edamos pagar y que debemos estar dispuestos a perdonar las deudas de los dem\u00e1s. Hab\u00edamos pecado contra un Dios santo y justo, pero \u00c9l demostr\u00f3 su amor por nosotros al morir por nosotros cuando a\u00fan \u00e9ramos pecadores. Debemos perdonarnos unos a otros.<\/p><p>Otra lecci\u00f3n que podemos extraer de esta par\u00e1bola es que el siervo despiadado fue entregado a los torturadores. \u00a1La peor prisi\u00f3n es un coraz\u00f3n que no perdona! Cuando nos negamos a perdonar, nos aprisionamos a nosotros mismos y nos causamos un tormento innecesario. Las personas que no perdonan pueden llegar a ser de las m\u00e1s miserables e infelices. Pero quienes aprenden a perdonar, as\u00ed como nosotros hemos sido perdonados, son personas liberadas, llenas de gozo y paz porque se han convertido en imitadores de Dios: \u201cSean bondadosos y misericordiosos unos con otros, perdon\u00e1ndose mutuamente, as\u00ed como Dios los perdon\u00f3 a ustedes en Cristo.
