Se usa, por ejemplo, con este significado com\u00fan y cotidiano en la par\u00e1bola del tesoro escondido en un campo, que motiv\u00f3 al hombre a comprar (redimir) el campo (Mateo 13:44). En relaci\u00f3n con nuestra salvaci\u00f3n, la palabra significa pagar el precio que el pecado exigi\u00f3 para que pudi\u00e9ramos ser redimidos. Vemos en Apocalipsis 5:9 que se adora al Cordero porque fue su sangre la que nos redimi\u00f3 para Dios. En 1 Corintios 6:19-20, se nos recuerda que \u201custedes fueron comprados (redimidos) por un precio; por lo tanto, glorifiquen a Dios con su cuerpo y con su esp\u00edritu, los cuales son de Dios\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>La segunda palabra es la misma palabra b\u00e1sica con una preposici\u00f3n a\u00f1adida como prefijo, intensificando su significado. Esto le da a la palabra la idea de \u201cliberaci\u00f3n\u201d. Esta palabra nos recuerda que la muerte de Cristo no solo pag\u00f3 el precio del pecado, sino que tambi\u00e9n nos liber\u00f3 del dominio del pecado, d\u00e1ndonos la plena seguridad de que nunca volveremos a la esclavitud y las consecuencias del pecado. Esta verdad se desarrolla en el libro de G\u00e1latas. All\u00ed, Pablo nos dice que la muerte de Cristo fue para \u201credimir a los que estaban bajo la ley\u201d (G\u00e1l. 4:5). Tambi\u00e9n dice que \u201cCristo nos redimi\u00f3 de la maldici\u00f3n de la ley, haci\u00e9ndose maldici\u00f3n por nosotros\u201d (G\u00e1l. 3:13). Est\u00e1bamos \u201cen esclavitud bajo los principios del mundo\u201d (G\u00e1l. 4:3). Este segundo uso de la palabra redenci\u00f3n nos recuerda que los creyentes son llevados a una nueva posici\u00f3n en Cristo en relaci\u00f3n con la ley y con este mundo.<\/p><p>La tercera palabra que se usa a menudo para redenci\u00f3n significa \u201cliberar\u201d o \u201cliberar pagando un precio\u201d. El medio de esta liberaci\u00f3n es la obra redentora de Cristo. Esto es lo que Pablo declar\u00f3 cuando escribi\u00f3: \u201cPorque hay un solo Dios, y un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, Jesucristo hombre, quien se dio a s\u00ed mismo en rescate por todos\u201d (1 Timoteo 2:5-6). El fundamento, o base, de nuestra redenci\u00f3n es la sangre de Cristo. Hebreos 9:12 nos recuerda que hemos obtenido la redenci\u00f3n eterna por medio de su sangre. Pedro declara: \u201csabiendo que no fuisteis redimidos con cosas corruptibles, como plata u oro, sino con la preciosa sangre de Cristo, como de un cordero sin mancha y sin defecto\u201d (1 Pedro 1:18-19).<\/p><p><strong>Lo m\u00e1s destacado de hoy:<\/strong><br \/>La muerte de Cristo y nuestra redenci\u00f3n deben tener un efecto moral en nuestra forma de vivir.
