Dame de comer con el alimento que me corresponde; no sea que, estando saciado, te niegue y diga: \u2018\u00bfQui\u00e9n es el Se\u00f1or?\u2019, o que, siendo pobre, robe y profane el nombre de mi Dios.\u201d<br \/><strong>Proverbios 30:7\u20139<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Probablemente la mayor\u00eda hemos o\u00eddo hablar de la oraci\u00f3n de Jabes, pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 tan familiarizados estamos con la oraci\u00f3n de Agur? De hecho, su oraci\u00f3n es la \u00fanica registrada en el libro de Proverbios. \u00c9l le pidi\u00f3 al Se\u00f1or dos cosas espec\u00edficas: integridad y contentamiento.<\/p><p>Agur anhelaba vivir una vida \u00edntegra ante su Dios, y la defin\u00eda como una vida libre de falsedad y mentiras. La palabra \u00abfalsedad\u00bb significa vac\u00edo o vanidad. La palabra \u00abmentira\u00bb significa enga\u00f1o o falsedad. Estas dos palabras capturan la esencia misma de este mundo, con todas sus promesas vac\u00edas y enga\u00f1os. Agur no solo ora para que le ayuden a decir la verdad; ora para que lo libren de la seducci\u00f3n de todo lo falso y contrario a la verdad.<\/p><p>Se suele decir: \u201cLa reputaci\u00f3n es lo que la gente piensa que eres; la integridad es lo que eres cuando nadie te ve\u201d. Este mundo intenta apartar nuestro afecto del Se\u00f1or mediante falsas promesas, falsas esperanzas y falsos placeres. Pero la Palabra de Verdad, la Biblia, nos se\u00f1ala a Aquel que es la Verdad: el Se\u00f1or Jesucristo. Agur no confiaba en s\u00ed mismo ni pon\u00eda su confianza en la carne.<\/p><p>El ap\u00f3stol Juan nos exhorta: \u201cNo am\u00e9is al mundo ni las cosas que est\u00e1n en el mundo. Si alguien ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no est\u00e1 en \u00e9l. Porque todo lo que hay en el mundo \u2014los deseos de la carne, los deseos de los ojos y la vanagloria de la vida\u2014 no proviene del Padre, sino del mundo. Y el mundo pasa, y sus deseos; pero el que hace la voluntad de Dios permanece para siempre\u201d (1 Juan 2:15-17).<\/p><p>El ap\u00f3stol Santiago tambi\u00e9n nos advierte: \u201c\u00bfNo saben que la amistad con el mundo es enemistad con Dios? Cualquiera, pues, que quiera ser amigo del mundo se constituye en enemigo de Dios\u201d (Santiago 4:4). David or\u00f3: \u201cAparta mis ojos de las cosas vanas, y vivif\u00edcame en tu camino\u201d (Salmo 119:37). Este es, en realidad, el pensamiento que subyace en Mateo 6:13: \u201cNo nos metas en tentaci\u00f3n, sino l\u00edbranos del mal. Porque tuyo es el reino, el poder y la gloria por siempre\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p><strong>Lo m\u00e1s destacado de hoy:<\/strong><br \/>\u00bfTenemos la sabidur\u00eda y la devoci\u00f3n de Agur?
