Adem\u00e1s, mi sabidur\u00eda permaneci\u00f3 conmigo. No les negu\u00e9 nada a mis ojos. No priv\u00e9 a mi coraz\u00f3n de ning\u00fan placer, pues mi coraz\u00f3n se regocijaba en todo mi trabajo; y esta fue mi recompensa por todo mi trabajo. Luego consider\u00e9 todas las obras que mis manos hab\u00edan hecho y el trabajo en que me hab\u00eda esforzado; y he aqu\u00ed que todo era vanidad y af\u00e1n de atrapar el viento. No hay provecho alguno bajo el sol.\u201d<br \/><strong>Eclesiast\u00e9s 2:9\u201311<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Salom\u00f3n era un hombre que buscaba satisfacci\u00f3n y plenitud. Lo hab\u00eda intentado todo. En los dos primeros cap\u00edtulos del Eclesiast\u00e9s, Salom\u00f3n expone la inquietud de la vida (1:4-11), prueba todos los placeres de la vida (1:12-2:11) y concluye examinando el prop\u00f3sito de la vida (2:12-23).<\/p><p>Resumiendo su b\u00fasqueda, Salom\u00f3n declara que las actividades de la vida son vac\u00edas cuando Dios queda fuera de la ecuaci\u00f3n:<\/p><p>\u201cNada es mejor para el hombre que comer y beber, y que su alma disfrute del fruto de su trabajo. Esto tambi\u00e9n, vi, procede de Dios. Porque \u00bfqui\u00e9n puede comer o disfrutar m\u00e1s que yo? Al hombre que le agrada, Dios le da sabidur\u00eda, conocimiento y alegr\u00eda; pero al pecador le da la tarea de acumular y recoger, para que pueda d\u00e1rselo al que le agrada a Dios. Esto tambi\u00e9n es vanidad y af\u00e1n de atrapar el viento\u201d (Eclesiast\u00e9s 2:24-26).<\/p><p>El libro de Eclesiast\u00e9s describe la b\u00fasqueda de Salom\u00f3n por el verdadero sentido de la vida bajo el sol. Al reflexionar sobre su vida, concluye que la vida sin Dios est\u00e1 completamente vac\u00eda. Al leer los dos primeros cap\u00edtulos de este libro, percibimos la desesperanza de la humanidad sin Dios.<\/p><p>\u201cUna generaci\u00f3n pasa, y otra viene; pero la tierra permanece para siempre\u201d (Eclesiast\u00e9s 1:4).<\/p><p>En la mente de Salom\u00f3n \u2014y en la de muchos hoy\u2014 la gente va y viene, pero el mundo simplemente sigue su curso. El sol sale y el sol se pone (Eclesiast\u00e9s 1:5). Entonces, \u00bfcu\u00e1l es el prop\u00f3sito de la vida?
