Galaad era una regi\u00f3n al este del r\u00edo Jord\u00e1n, conocida por sus especias y ung\u00fcentos. El b\u00e1lsamo de Galaad era un ung\u00fcento de alta calidad con propiedades curativas, elaborado con la resina de una planta con flores. En las Escrituras se menciona el \u201cb\u00e1lsamo de Galaad\u201d en tres ocasiones.<\/p><p>En G\u00e9nesis 37:25, leemos acerca de la caravana de ismaelitas que llevaba b\u00e1lsamo de Galaad en su cargamento. Aqu\u00ed, en Jerem\u00edas 8, leemos que Dios advierte a Jud\u00e1 sobre lo que Babilonia les har\u00eda, y al o\u00edr esta noticia, Jerem\u00edas se lamenta: &quot;\u00bfNo hay b\u00e1lsamo en Galaad?&quot;. Su pregunta es una b\u00fasqueda po\u00e9tica de esperanza y sanaci\u00f3n. Luego, en Jerem\u00edas 46:11, cuando Dios describe el inminente juicio sobre Egipto, dice: &quot;Sube a Galaad y toma b\u00e1lsamo, oh virgen, hija de Egipto; en vano usar\u00e1s muchas medicinas; no ser\u00e1s sanada&quot;. En ambos vers\u00edculos de Jerem\u00edas, el profeta describe el dolor y la desesperanza del pueblo de Dios y del mundo. \u00a1No hay b\u00e1lsamo ni m\u00e9dico que calme y alivie el dolor y la aflicci\u00f3n! El Se\u00f1or Jesucristo es verdaderamente &quot;el b\u00e1lsamo de Galaad&quot; para los que sufren. \u00a1\u00c9l es capaz de sanarlos!<\/p><p>La pregunta de nuestro vers\u00edculo de hoy es ret\u00f3rica, pero podemos preguntarnos: \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 la gente no acude a buscar sanaci\u00f3n? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 hay tantos santos que sufren hoy? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 el mundo no acude al Gran M\u00e9dico para ser sanado? Quiz\u00e1s muchos no se dan cuenta de su enfermedad, al igual que los de Corinto, donde reinaba un estado espiritual bajo.
