Dado que una mecha humeante era in\u00fatil, se apagaba y se desechaba. La mecha humeante representa a las personas cuyas vidas est\u00e1n desgastadas; de ellas emana m\u00e1s humo que luz. Su testimonio se ha vuelto ineficaz. Tal vez te sientas como una mecha humeante. \u00bfSe ha apagado tu luz hasta convertirse en humo, casi extingui\u00e9ndose? \u00bfTe sientes desanimado porque tu luz no brilla con intensidad?<\/p><p>\u00a1Nuestros fracasos no tienen por qu\u00e9 ser definitivos! Juan Marcos brillaba con intensidad en un momento dado, pero su llama comenz\u00f3 a menguar. Dej\u00f3 a Pablo y Bernab\u00e9 durante su primer viaje misionero y regres\u00f3 a casa (Hechos 13:13). Sin embargo, m\u00e1s tarde Pablo pudo escribir que Marcos le hab\u00eda sido \u00fatil para el ministerio (2 Timoteo 4:11). Para el Se\u00f1or habr\u00eda sido f\u00e1cil apagar nuestra d\u00e9bil llama y simplemente extinguirnos, pero \u00c9l siempre est\u00e1 dispuesto a perdonarnos, restaurarnos y reavivarnos cuando lo invocamos, confesando nuestros pecados (1 Jn. 1:9).<\/p><p>Nunca apagar\u00e1 una brizna de lino humeante, sino que la avivar\u00e1 hasta convertirla en llama. La palabra <em>aplacar<\/em> significa \u201capagar o extinguir\u201d. El Se\u00f1or no apaga esa mecha humeante. No la extingue sin cuidado. Al contrario, viene a reavivar su d\u00e9bil llama.
