El pueblo de Jud\u00e1 hab\u00eda perdido su aprecio por el amor de Dios hacia ellos. Mois\u00e9s les hab\u00eda recordado, <em data-start=\"304\" data-end=\"507\">\u201cPara el Se\u00f1or tu Dios sois un pueblo santo; el Se\u00f1or tu Dios os ha escogido para que se\u00e1is su pueblo, un tesoro especial entre todos los pueblos de la tierra\u2026 porque el Se\u00f1or os ama\u201d.\u201d<\/em> (Deut. 7:6\u20138). M\u00e1s tarde, Jerem\u00edas les asegur\u00f3 el amor perdurable de Dios: <em data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"621\">\u201cTe he amado con un amor eterno\u201d<\/em> (Jerem\u00edas 31:3).<\/p><p data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"974\">Dios hab\u00eda demostrado su amor de maneras tangibles: al elegirlos a ellos por encima de los descendientes de Esa\u00fa, al ayudarlos a regresar del exilio y reconstruir lugares desolados, y al permitirles presenciar su grandeza manifestada m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las fronteras de Israel (Mal. 1:2\u20135). Sin embargo, a pesar de todo esto, todav\u00eda lo cuestionaban, preguntando:, <em data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"974\">\u201c\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 manera nos has amado?\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1472\">No somos tan diferentes hoy en d\u00eda. Nuestros corazones pueden volverse f\u00e1cilmente insensibles a Su amor, y olvidamos que <em data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1191\">\u201cEn esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que \u00e9l nos am\u00f3 a nosotros y envi\u00f3 a su Hijo para ser la propiciaci\u00f3n por nuestros pecados\u201d.\u201d<\/em> (1 Juan 4:10). Cuando perdemos de vista su gran amor por nosotros, nuestros corazones se desv\u00edan lentamente hacia otras cosas. Esto es precisamente lo que le sucedi\u00f3 a la iglesia de \u00c9feso: abandonaron su primer amor (Apocalipsis 2:4). Aunque estaban ocupados en muchas buenas actividades, su afecto por Cristo se hab\u00eda enfriado.<\/p><p data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1779\">Lo mismo sucedi\u00f3 con Jud\u00e1 en tiempos de Malaqu\u00edas. Empezaron a buscar la prosperidad material como prueba del amor de Dios y se volvieron ciegos a todo lo que \u00c9l ya hab\u00eda hecho por ellos.
