\u201cYo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Nadie viene al Padre sino por m\u00ed.\u201d<\/em>
Juan 14:6<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Esta declaraci\u00f3n es una de las siete afirmaciones de Jes\u00fas que comienzan con "Yo soy". La noche anterior a su ascenso al Calvario, Jes\u00fas prepar\u00f3 a sus disc\u00edpulos para los d\u00edas venideros. Estos hombres lo hab\u00edan seguido durante m\u00e1s de tres a\u00f1os, aprendiendo de sus ense\u00f1anzas y su ejemplo. Hab\u00edan depositado su esperanza en \u00e9l como el Mes\u00edas, el Libertador prometido, pero a\u00fan no comprend\u00edan c\u00f3mo lograr\u00eda esa liberaci\u00f3n.<\/p>

Despu\u00e9s de la cena de Pascua, el Se\u00f1or comenz\u00f3 a hablar sobre su partida, lo que provoc\u00f3 preguntas de sus disc\u00edpulos. Juan 13:33<\/em>, Jes\u00fas dijo:<\/p>

\u201cHijitos, estar\u00e9 con vosotros un poco m\u00e1s de tiempo. Me buscar\u00e9is; y como dije a los jud\u00edos: \u2018Adonde yo voy, vosotros no pod\u00e9is venir\u2019, as\u00ed os digo ahora a vosotros.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Esto llev\u00f3 a Pedro a preguntar ad\u00f3nde iba (Juan 13:36<\/em>Pedro y los dem\u00e1s no entendieron que Jes\u00fas estaba hablando de su muerte y ascensi\u00f3n al cielo. Jes\u00fas respondi\u00f3:, \u201cAdonde voy, no puedes seguirme ahora, pero me seguir\u00e1s m\u00e1s adelante.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Pedro es el primero de los cuatro disc\u00edpulos en hacer preguntas en respuesta a la declaraci\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas en el vers\u00edculo 33: Pedro<\/strong> (13:36\u201314:4<\/em>); Thomas<\/strong> (14:5\u20137<\/em>); Felipe<\/strong> (14:7\u201321<\/em>); Judas<\/strong> (no Iscariote)14:22\u201331<\/em>);<\/p>

Es interesante observar que parte de la tradici\u00f3n de la Pascua inclu\u00eda un momento para hacer preguntas (\u00c9xodo 12:26\u201327<\/em>). A\u00fan sin comprender, Pedro declar\u00f3 que seguir\u00eda al Se\u00f1or a cualquier parte, incluso hasta el punto de dar su vida. Los disc\u00edpulos estaban claramente turbados y afligidos en sus corazones (Juan 14:1, 27; 16:6, 20\u201322<\/em>), lo que nos permite comprender la atm\u00f3sfera sombr\u00eda y seria que se respiraba en la habitaci\u00f3n superior.<\/p>

En su respuesta, el Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas da una triple respuesta para consolar e instruir a sus disc\u00edpulos:<\/p>

El objeto de nuestra fe: su persona. <\/strong>\u201cSi cre\u00e9is en Dios, creed tambi\u00e9n en m\u00ed.\u201d<\/em> (<\/span>Juan 14:1<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>

La promesa de un hogar celestial: <\/strong>\u201cEn la casa de mi Padre hay muchas moradas\u2026\u201d<\/em> (<\/span>Juan 14:2<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>

La perspectiva de su regreso: <\/strong>\u201cVolver\u00e9 y os recibir\u00e9 conmigo\u2026\u201d<\/em> (<\/span>Juan 14:3<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>

Entonces el Se\u00f1or dijo:, \u201cY ad\u00f3nde voy, t\u00fa lo sabes, y el camino, t\u00fa lo sabes\u201d<\/em> (Juan 14:4<\/em>Hablando en nombre de los dem\u00e1s, Tom\u00e1s respondi\u00f3 que no sab\u00edan ad\u00f3nde iba y, por lo tanto, no pod\u00edan saber el camino.<\/p>

En respuesta, Jes\u00fas pronunci\u00f3 la sexta de sus siete declaraciones \u201cYo soy\u201d:<\/p>
