Al entrar en la casa, vieron al ni\u00f1o con Mar\u00eda, su madre, y postr\u00e1ndose, lo adoraron. Luego abrieron sus tesoros y le ofrecieron presentes: oro, incienso y mirra.
Mateo 2:11<\/strong>
<\/em><\/p>

El cap\u00edtulo dos de Mateo comienza dici\u00e9ndonos:, \u201cDespu\u00e9s de que Jes\u00fas naci\u00f3 en Bel\u00e9n de Judea, en tiempos del rey Herodes, unos magos de Oriente llegaron a Jerusal\u00e9n diciendo: \u2018\u00bfD\u00f3nde est\u00e1 el rey de los jud\u00edos que ha nacido? Porque hemos visto su estrella en el oriente y hemos venido a adorarlo\u2019\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

N\u00f3tese que no se nos dice cu\u00e1ntos sabios vinieron. Muchos han asumido que fueron tres debido a los tres regalos: oro, incienso y mirra (Mateo 2:11), pero la Biblia no especifica su n\u00famero. No se nos dicen sus nombres, su medio de viaje, ni siquiera de qu\u00e9 pa\u00edses proven\u00edan exactamente. Lo que s\u00ed se nos dice es que eran sabios. La palabra griega utilizada en Mateo 2:1, 7 y 16 es magos<\/em> (plural los reyes magos<\/em>).<\/p>

Ellos vieron \u201cSu estrella\u201d<\/em> y vinieron a adorarlo, no en un establo, sino en una casa. Esto indica que la visita tuvo lugar alg\u00fan tiempo despu\u00e9s del nacimiento del Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas. Algunos sugieren que pudo haber sido entre unos meses y hasta dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s.<\/p>

Pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 estrella vieron y c\u00f3mo supieron su significado? Lo m\u00e1s probable es que los magos estuvieran familiarizados con los escritos del profeta Daniel, quien anteriormente hab\u00eda servido como jefe de los sabios en Persia. Daniel 9:24\u201327 incluye una profec\u00eda que proporciona una cronolog\u00eda relacionada con la venida del Mes\u00edas. Adem\u00e1s, los magos podr\u00edan haber conocido la profec\u00eda de Balaam \u2014quien vino de Petor cerca del r\u00edo \u00c9ufrates, cerca de Persia\u2014 en N\u00fameros 24:17, que habla de \u201cUna estrella que emerge de Jacob.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Estos Reyes Magos eran hombres que le\u00edan y cre\u00edan en la Palabra de Dios. Buscaban al Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas, reconociendo su valor. Se humillaron para adorarlo y le trajeron regalos dignos de un rey.<\/p>

En los vers\u00edculos 7 y 8, leemos acerca del enga\u00f1o de Herodes, cuando instruy\u00f3 a los sabios, \u201cVayan y busquen con diligencia al ni\u00f1o, y cuando lo encuentren, av\u00edsenme para que yo tambi\u00e9n vaya a adorarlo.\u201d<\/em> Sin embargo, en el vers\u00edculo 12 vemos que los sabios obedecieron a Dios antes que a los hombres. Realmente eran hombres sabios.<\/p>

En esta \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o, es f\u00e1cil perder de vista la verdadera raz\u00f3n por la que Cristo vino al mundo. Podemos estar ocupados y distra\u00eddos con muchas cosas. Pero estos sabios no se desviaron del prop\u00f3sito de su viaje. Vinieron, se postraron y lo adoraron. Ojal\u00e1 nosotros hagamos lo mismo en nuestros corazones.<\/p>
