Luego llegaron al otro lado del mar, a la tierra de los gadarenos. Al salir de la barca, le sali\u00f3 al encuentro un hombre pose\u00eddo por un esp\u00edritu inmundo, que habitaba entre las tumbas. Nadie pod\u00eda atarlo, ni siquiera con cadenas, pues muchas veces hab\u00eda sido atado con grilletes y cadenas. Pero \u00e9l romp\u00eda las cadenas y hac\u00eda pedazos los grilletes; nadie pod\u00eda dominarlo.

<\/em><\/p>

Al leer Marcos 5:1-20, se nos presenta a un hombre que ilustra v\u00edvidamente c\u00f3mo es la vida sin Cristo. Podr\u00edamos decir que este hombre representa la condici\u00f3n de toda persona sin el Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas. Estaba bajo la influencia de Satan\u00e1s, impuro, desnudo, viviendo entre la muerte, sin hogar, en agon\u00eda, incontrolable y peligroso.<\/p>

En Efesios, leemos una descripci\u00f3n similar de aquellos que est\u00e1n fuera de Cristo: \u201cY a vosotros os dio vida, estando muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados, en los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo, siguiendo la corriente de este mundo, conforme al pr\u00edncipe de la potestad del aire, el esp\u00edritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia, entre los cuales tambi\u00e9n todos nosotros vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente, y \u00e9ramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los dem\u00e1s.\u201d<\/em> (Efesios 2:1\u20133). Est\u00e1bamos sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo (Efesios 2:12).<\/p>

Pero este hombre tuvo un encuentro con Cristo, y eso lo cambi\u00f3 todo. Fue liberado, sanado y transformado en una nueva criatura con un nuevo prop\u00f3sito en la vida. Cristo lo vio en esa terrible condici\u00f3n, tom\u00f3 la iniciativa y expuls\u00f3 al esp\u00edritu inmundo (Marcos 5:8).<\/p>

La misma verdad contin\u00faa en Efesios 2: \u201cPero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos am\u00f3, aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia sois salvos), y juntamente con \u00e9l nos resucit\u00f3, y asimismo nos hizo sentar en los lugares celestiales con Cristo Jes\u00fas, para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jes\u00fas. Porque por gracia sois salvos por medio de la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios; no por obras, para que nadie se glor\u00ede. Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jes\u00fas para buenas obras, las cuales Dios prepar\u00f3 de antemano para que anduvi\u00e9ramos en ellas.\u201d<\/em><\/p>
