Sali\u00f3 de Judea y volvi\u00f3 a Galilea. Pero necesitaba pasar por Samaria. As\u00ed que lleg\u00f3 a una ciudad de Samaria llamada Sicar, cerca del terreno que Jacob le hab\u00eda dado a su hijo Jos\u00e9\u2026 Una mujer samaritana fue a sacar agua. Jes\u00fas le dijo: \u201cDame de beber\u201d. Pues sus disc\u00edpulos hab\u00edan ido a la ciudad a comprar comida. Entonces la mujer samaritana le dijo: \u201c\u00bfC\u00f3mo es que t\u00fa, siendo jud\u00edo, me pides de beber a m\u00ed, que soy samaritana?\u201d. Porque los jud\u00edos no se tratan con los samaritanos.

Este encuentro con Cristo es muy valioso. Nos recuerda que, por muy doloroso que haya sido nuestro pasado, nunca est\u00e1 fuera del alcance de un Dios amoroso y misericordioso.<\/p>

La mujer samaritana que se encontr\u00f3 con el Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas en el pozo de Sicar fue simplemente a sacar agua. Probablemente trajo c\u00e1ntaros vac\u00edos, s\u00edmbolos de su propia vida: vac\u00eda y seca. Hab\u00eda estado buscando amor y aceptaci\u00f3n, habiendo intentado una relaci\u00f3n tras otra: cinco maridos y ahora viviendo con un hombre que no era su esposo (4:17-18). Cada experiencia la dejaba con el mismo anhelo insatisfecho en lo m\u00e1s profundo de su coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>

Ahora conoce a otro hombre, pero este es diferente. Est\u00e1 dispuesto a traspasar cualquier barrera racial o social. Aunque era jud\u00edo, le pidi\u00f3 de beber a ella, una mujer samaritana con un pasado turbulento. Esto la desconcert\u00f3 profundamente. Sin embargo, supo que este hombre era diferente: por la forma en que la miraba y por la forma en que le hablaba. No se detuvo en las barreras de raza o posici\u00f3n social; en cambio, la mir\u00f3 directamente al coraz\u00f3n y abord\u00f3 su necesidad m\u00e1s profunda.<\/p>

\u201cJes\u00fas le respondi\u00f3: \u2018Si conocieras el don de Dios y qui\u00e9n es el que te dice: \u201cDame de beber\u201d, t\u00fa le habr\u00edas pedido, y \u00e9l te habr\u00eda dado agua viva\u2019\u201d (4:10).<\/p>

Sus palabras la confundieron a\u00fan m\u00e1s: \u201cSe\u00f1or, no tienes con qu\u00e9 sacar agua, y el pozo es profundo. \u00bfDe d\u00f3nde, pues, sacas esa agua viva?\u201d. Ella intent\u00f3 cambiar de tema, mencionando diferencias de religi\u00f3n y culto, pero el Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas sigui\u00f3 centr\u00e1ndose en la necesidad de su coraz\u00f3n:<\/p>

\u201cQuien beba de esta agua volver\u00e1 a tener sed; pero quien beba del agua que yo le dar\u00e9, no tendr\u00e1 sed jam\u00e1s. El agua que yo le dar\u00e9 se convertir\u00e1 en \u00e9l en una fuente de agua que brota para vida eterna\u201d.\u201d<\/p>

Luego habl\u00f3 de la adoraci\u00f3n, y el Se\u00f1or le record\u00f3 \u2014y a cada lector\u2014 que todos fuimos creados con ese prop\u00f3sito. Pero la verdadera adoraci\u00f3n no se encuentra en la religi\u00f3n, sino en una relaci\u00f3n con el Dios vivo, aquel que la cre\u00f3.<\/p>
