Mois\u00e9s les hab\u00eda dicho: \u201cUstedes son un pueblo santo para el Se\u00f1or su Dios; el Se\u00f1or su Dios los ha escogido para ser su pueblo, un tesoro especial entre todos los pueblos de la tierra\u2026 porque el Se\u00f1or los ama\u201d (Deuteronomio 7:6-8). Entonces Jerem\u00edas les dijo: \u201cLos he amado con amor eterno\u201d (Jerem\u00edas 31:3).<\/p><p>Dios les hab\u00eda demostrado su amor al elegirlos por encima de los descendientes de Esa\u00fa, al ayudarlos a regresar y reconstruir los lugares desolados, y al permitirles ver su grandeza manifestada a otros m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las fronteras de Israel (Malaqu\u00edas 1:2-5). A pesar de todo esto, preguntaron: \u201c\u00bfEn qu\u00e9 nos has amado?\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>Hoy en d\u00eda, no somos diferentes. Nuestros corazones pueden insensibilizarse f\u00e1cilmente a su amor, y olvidamos que \u201cen esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que \u00e9l nos am\u00f3 a nosotros y envi\u00f3 a su Hijo como propiciaci\u00f3n por nuestros pecados\u201d (1 Juan 4:10). Si empezamos a perder de vista su gran amor, poco a poco nos sentiremos atra\u00eddos por otras cosas.<\/p><p>Esto fue lo que le sucedi\u00f3 a la iglesia de \u00c9feso: abandonaron su primer amor (Apocalipsis 2:4). Tantas otras cosas se hab\u00edan infiltrado que perdieron el afecto por Cristo. Esto fue lo que le sucedi\u00f3 a Jud\u00e1 en tiempos de Malaqu\u00edas. Buscando bendiciones materiales como prueba del amor de Dios, se volvieron ciegos a todo lo que \u00c9l hab\u00eda hecho.
