God Is Sovereign<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u201cAnd we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose\u201d <\/em>
Romans 8:28<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

When we say God is sovereign, we declare that, by virtue of His creatorship over all life and reality, and His all-knowing, all-powerful, and benevolent rule, He is in fact the Lord of all lords, the King of all kings, and in absolute control of time and eternity. In fact, the sovereignty of God is what separates the God of the Bible from all other religions, truth claims, and philosophies.<\/p>

So what does this mean for you and me? When I think about God\u2019s sovereignty, the phrase I like best is simply this: God is in control. When your loved one is lying in a hospital bed, God is in control. When the economy\u2014whether national or personal\u2014is in decline, God is in control. That is such a comfort.<\/p>

As the ruler of everything, nothing will enter our lives that God does not either decree or allow. And there is nothing that will come into our lives that, if we are willing to trust in Him, He cannot work out for our good. That is the truth presented to us in today’s verse.<\/p>

Only God has the power to take all the events, situations, people, prayers, and everything involved in whatever difficult circumstance we are facing and work them together for the good of those who trust in Him. He could never stand behind this promise unless He knew everything and possessed unlimited power. Therefore, it is because He is the sovereign King of the universe that He can make\u2014and keep\u2014this promise.<\/p>

Anchor For Today:<\/strong>
When you are in a difficult situation and you pray and ask God for help, remember to whom you are praying. He is the God who has power over the entire universe\u2014and He is also the God who infinitely loves and cares deeply for you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
