Ob wir also leben oder sterben, wir geh\u00f6ren dem Herrn.<br \/><\/em><strong><em>R\u00f6mer 14:8<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/div><div class=\"LIN-Text\"><p>Die Hoffnung, die wir als Nachfolger Jesu Christi in uns tragen, sollte jeden Bereich unseres Lebens pr\u00e4gen, auch unsere Sicht auf den Tod. Der Apostel Paulus konnte sagen: \u201cDenn f\u00fcr mich ist Christus das Leben, und Sterben ein Gewinn\u201d (Phil 1,21). Er konnte dies sagen, weil er wusste, dass seine Hoffnung auf einen Mann in der Herrlichkeit gegr\u00fcndet war, der sich seinen Platz im Himmel gesichert hatte, indem er sein Leben f\u00fcr Paulus und jeden einzelnen Menschen hingab, der an das vollbrachte Werk Christi am Kreuz glaubte.<\/p><p>Jeden Tag sterben weltweit \u00fcber 5.000 Menschen. Manche sterben eines nat\u00fcrlichen Todes, manche durch tragische Unf\u00e4lle und manche durch Verbrechen. F\u00fcr manche ist der Tod vorhersehbar, f\u00fcr andere kommt er unerwartet. Seit die S\u00fcnde in die Welt gekommen ist, geh\u00f6rt der Tod zum Leben. Doch f\u00fcr diejenigen, die erkannt haben, dass sie S\u00fcnder sind und durch seinen geliebten Sohn, den Herrn Jesus, zu Gott gefunden haben, ist der Tod nur das Mittel, das uns in die Gegenwart unseres Herrn f\u00fchrt! Dank der Hoffnung in Christus wird der Tod als Anfang und nicht als Ende gesehen! Da Christus den Tod besiegt hat (1. Korinther 15,20\u201328), gibt uns die Hoffnung in ihn die Zuversicht, uns nicht zu f\u00fcrchten. Auf dem Sterbebett schrieb der Puritaner John Owen: \u201cIch bin noch im Land der Sterbenden, aber ich hoffe, bald im Land der Lebenden zu sein.\u201d<\/p><p>David erinnerte uns alle daran, dass der Tod nur ein Schatten ist (Psalm 23,4), was bedeutet, dass Licht gegenw\u00e4rtig ist. Das Licht, das jedem Gl\u00e4ubigen gegenw\u00e4rtig ist, ist der Herr Jesus Christus. Der Gl\u00e4ubige geh\u00f6rt Christus im Leben und im Tod! Das ist die Hoffnung, die er jedem von uns geschenkt hat, als er sein Leben f\u00fcr uns am Kreuz hingab. Wenn wir ihm und seinem vollbrachten Werk vertrauen, geh\u00f6rt uns diese Hoffnung!
