No one comes to the Father except through Me.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"294\" data-end=\"297\" \/><strong><em data-start=\"297\" data-end=\"309\">John 14:6<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"311\" data-end=\"686\">The Lord used the definite article to distinguish Himself as \u201cthe only way.\u201d A <em data-start=\"394\" data-end=\"399\">way<\/em> is a path or means of access, and the disciples had expressed confusion about where He was going and how they could follow. As He had told them from the beginning, He now tells them once again (and us): \u201cFollow Me.\u201d There is no other path to heaven\u2014no other way to the Father.<\/p><p data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"772\">Peter reaffirmed this truth years later when he declared to the rulers in Jerusalem: <em style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', 'Noto Color Emoji';\" data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"894\">\u201cSalvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.\u201d (<\/em><em data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"912\">Acts 4:12) <\/em>The exclusive nature of the only path to salvation is clearly expressed in the words, <em data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1021\">\u201cI am the way.\u201d<\/em> He is the door of the sheep (<em data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1066\">John 10:9<\/em>) and the narrow gate (<em data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1110\">Matthew 7:13\u201314<\/em>).<\/p><p data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1236\">But Jesus is not only the Way for salvation. In <em data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1226\">Hebrews 10:19\u201322<\/em>, we read:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1633\"><p data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1633\"><em data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1633\">\u201cTherefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1757\">Through our great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, we now have a completely new approach to God and His throne.<\/p><p data-start=\"1803\" data-end=\"1902\">This leads us to a third truth about Christ as the Way: He brings us into a new way of worship. In <em data-start=\"1907\" data-end=\"1915\">John 4<\/em>, the Lord Jesus spoke with the woman at the well about worship. He said:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2166\"><p data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2166\"><em data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2148\">\u201cBut the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.\u201d <\/em><em data-start=\"2153\" data-end=\"2166\">(John 4:23)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"2168\" data-end=\"2361\">He had already told her that worship was no longer confined to a place\u2014<em data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2285\">\u201cneither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.\u201d <\/em>Instead, He pointed her to the Person and principles of true worship: <em style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', 'Noto Color Emoji';\" data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2443\">\u201cGod is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.\u201d <\/em>Jesus is the Way by which our worship ascends to the Father.<\/p><p data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"2670\">Finally, Christ as the Way means that it is in His name that our prayers are brought before the Father. Beginning in <em data-start=\"2685\" data-end=\"2700\">John 14:13\u201314<\/em>, in response to Philip\u2019s question, Jesus refers seven times in these chapters to asking in His name: (<em data-start=\"2813\" data-end=\"2855\">John 14:13, 14, 26; 15:16; 16:23, 24, 26<\/em>). We are to pray in His name\u2014meaning in His authority and in accordance with His character. He is the Way to the Father in prayer.<\/p><p data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"2670\"><strong>Anchor For Today:<br \/><\/strong>The Lord Jesus is the only way of salvation and entrance to the Father&#8217;s house.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I Am The Way \u201cI am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
