Viele von uns kennen vielleicht nur den Refrain, aber das ganze Lied ist sehr ermutigend und herausfordernd. Es wurde 1897 von Johnson Oatman Jr. geschrieben und basiert auf 1. Thessalonicher 5,18., <em data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"433\">\u201cSeid in allem dankbar; denn das ist der Wille Gottes in Christus Jesus f\u00fcr euch.\u201d<\/em> Jemand sagte einmal \u00fcber <em data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"477\">Z\u00e4hle deine Segnungen<\/em>, \u201cEs ist wie ein Sonnenstrahl, der die dunklen Orte der Erde erhellt.\u201d Anfangs war es besonders in Gro\u00dfbritannien beliebt, wo man sagte:, <em data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"733\">\u201cDie M\u00e4nner singen es, die Jungen pfeifen es, und die Frauen wiegen ihre Babys mit diesem Lied in den Schlaf.\u201d<\/em> W\u00e4hrend der Erweckungsbewegung in Wales war es eines der Lieder, die in jedem Gottesdienst gesungen wurden.<\/p><p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"1299\">Die wunderbare Aufforderung, \u201cseine Segnungen zu z\u00e4hlen\u201d, wird oft missverstanden. Sie bedeutet nicht, Probleme zu leugnen. Sie bedeutet nicht, belastende Gef\u00fchle zu ignorieren. Sie bedeutet nicht: \u201cKopf hoch und so tun, als w\u00e4re alles in Ordnung.\u201d Diese Herangehensweise funktioniert nicht und f\u00fchrt weder zu dauerhafter Freude noch zu innerem Frieden. Das Lied ermutigt uns vielmehr, offen anzuerkennen, dass wir \u201cvom Sturm gebeutelt\u201d oder \u201cvon Sorgen beschwert\u201d sind, und diese Anliegen im Gebet zu Gott zu bringen.<\/p><p data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1727\">Wenn wir mit unseren Sorgen zu Gott kommen, erkennen wir, dass wir nicht verzagen m\u00fcssen, denn \u201cGott ist \u00fcber allem\u201d. Unsere Segnungen zu z\u00e4hlen bedeutet, jeden einzelnen zu sch\u00e4tzen, dass wir \u201cin Christus jeden geistlichen Segen\u201d empfangen haben (Epheser 1,3). Aufrichtiger Dank und Lobpreis Gottes geh\u00f6ren dazu, wenn wir uns vor dem \u201cVater der Barmherzigkeit\u201d und dem \u201cGott allen Trostes\u201d (2.
