Mose hatte ihnen gesagt: \u201cIhr seid ein heiliges Volk dem HERRN, eurem Gott. Der HERR, euer Gott, hat euch erw\u00e4hlt, sein Volk zu sein, sein besonderes Eigentum unter allen V\u00f6lkern auf Erden \u2026 denn der HERR liebt euch\u201d (5. Mose 7,6\u20138). Dann sagte Jeremia zu ihnen: \u201cIch habe euch mit ewiger Liebe geliebt\u201d (Jeremia 31,3).<\/p><p>Gott hatte seine Liebe zu ihnen dadurch bewiesen, dass er sie den Nachkommen Esaus vorgezogen, ihnen geholfen hatte, zur\u00fcckzukehren und die verw\u00fcsteten Orte wieder aufzubauen, und ihnen erlaubt hatte, seine Gr\u00f6\u00dfe jenseits der Grenzen Israels zu sehen (Maleachi 1,2\u20135). Und dennoch fragten sie: \u201cWorin hast du uns geliebt?\u201d<\/p><p>Auch heute sind wir nicht anders. Unsere Herzen k\u00f6nnen leicht gegen\u00fcber seiner Liebe zu uns abstumpfen, und wir vergessen, dass \u201cdarin die Liebe besteht: nicht, dass wir Gott geliebt haben, sondern dass er uns geliebt und seinen Sohn gesandt hat als S\u00fchne f\u00fcr unsere S\u00fcnden\u201d (1. Johannes 4,10). Wenn wir seine gro\u00dfe Liebe zu uns aus den Augen verlieren, werden wir uns allm\u00e4hlich anderen Dingen zuwenden.<\/p><p>Genau das geschah mit der Gemeinde in Ephesus \u2013 sie verlie\u00dfen ihre erste Liebe (Offenbarung 2,4). So vieles andere hatte sich eingeschlichen, dass ihre Liebe zu Christus erloschen war. Dasselbe geschah mit Juda zur Zeit Maleachis. Auf der Suche nach materiellem Segen als Beweis f\u00fcr Gottes Liebe wurden sie blind f\u00fcr all das, was er getan hatte.
